💙 World Diabetes Day - Friday 14th November 💙

Today we are raising awareness of the important connection between diabetes and eye health.

Diabetes can increase your risk of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and cataracts, but with regular eye examinations these conditions can often be detected early and managed effectively.

At Parker Opticians, we use advanced OCT scanning technology to capture detailed 3D images of the back of your eyes. This allows us to identify even the smallest changes to your retina long before you notice any symptoms.

Our Eyeplan care scheme makes it simple and affordable to have regular eye health checks including OCT scans whenever you need them.

If you have diabetes, make sure to have your eyes examined at least once a year. Your vision is precious and worth protecting.

Update - We will be Open as normal tomorrow morning, Friday 7th November 9am

We have now cleaned up the mess left over from the break in, we are still assessing what has been taken but we know for confident the Poppy collection tin has been taken along with some Ray-ban Sunglasses. The loss of the Poppy tin feels especially upsetting given its purpose and the time of year.

Thank you, truly, to everyone who has reached out with kind words, support, and offers of help today. Your messages have meant more than we can say. Parker Opticians has always been about community - and even in moments like this, you’ve reminded us of just how strong that community is.

Important Notice - Please share

Unfortunately Parker Opticians will be closed today Thursday 6th November. Around 4am this morning we suffered a break in. We are still waiting to be allowed in by the police to fully assess the situation.

We are feeling incredibly upset and shocked. This practice isn’t just a building to us - it’s a place where we care for our community, where we know your faces, your families, your stories. To see it violated like this is deeply painful.

Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your support while we process what has happened and work to put things right. We will update everyone as soon as we know more.
