Personal goals 🀍

This week I thought I would share a card that encourages thought around our dreams and aspirations from our younger years and explore how these may have changed as we've gotten older. Perhaps our dreams and aspirations as a child is a good indicator of our inner strengths?

Practicing being mindful allows us to be fully present in the moment and can help to reduce feelings of anxiety.

When we feel mind full, we're distracted by racing thoughts or worries about the future, we create a cycle of anxiety. Anxiety keeps us on high alert, it disrupts sleep and leaves us feeling overwhelmed.

By using our five senses, what can I see, hear, touch, smell and taste, this can help to bring us back to the present moment where we don't need to be on high alert, here we can feel calmer, more relaxed and in control.

Is one of your goals to learn how to swim but the fear of getting into the water overwhelms you?

Maybe you have a summer holiday planned and you'd love to overcome that fear so you can enjoy relaxing in the pool.

According to statistics around 1 in 3 adults in England can not swim and a significant proportion say it's because they fear the water.

Not only is swimming a great exercise and beneficial to our health and well-being, one day it could potentially save your life.

🌟 Did you know each year 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem?

Approximately 45.8 million adults in England report experiencing anxiety and depression in any given week.

🀍 Time to talk is a day for friends, family, colleagues, communities and workplaces to make time for a conversation about mental health.

Some ideas include visiting a relative, messaging a friend, or maybe having a cuppa with a work colleague.

✨ Talking brings people closer together, talking about mental health can remove the stigma out of something that affects us all at some point in our life.
