Your Time To Shine Therapy.

Your Time To Shine Therapy. "I am dedicated to helping you navigate life’s challenges with care and understanding. Hi, I'm Cheryl. I'm a qualified life coach and mindfulness practitioner.

Through a compassionate and collaborative approach, we will work together to help you find clarity, build resilience, and create a more fulfilling life." I also teach you how to manifest anything you want in your life using the law of attraction. Back in 2018 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and at 48 years old I decided it was time for me to change my life and live it as the purposeful person I

was meant to be. I was made redundant from my job, I believed this was a sign from the universe that I had to pick up my old dream and become a Life Coach. I believe we are all put on this earth with a purpose in mind, we just need to find it and share it with the world. I have always known deep down that my life purpose is to help people find their pathway and wake up every morning thanking the universe for another day. My mission in life therefor is to help people relight their fire and go back to the dreams and hopes they had as a child. So often as adults we let them fade into the background as our day to day lives slowly takes over. My promise to you will be to provide a safe space so you can envisage the life you want. I will help you to break free from the limiting beliefs and blocks that have been holding you prisoner and help you create a life you truly desire. I have walked this very path and come out the other side as the shining light I was born to be. I will be honest with you it is not going to be an easy journey and it will take some deep soul searching. However, I promise with the space I hold for you and the tools I will share, together we can get your light shining bright and completely transform your life. If you are truly ready to embark on an epic journey of self-discovery, to find your true potential and live your best life then take my hand and together we will take the very first step.

Have you ever been told to “just think positive” when you’re feeling anxious?

And then felt even worse when it didn’t work?

Please know this: if positive thinking hasn’t eased your anxiety, that does not mean you are failing.

Anxiety is not simply a mindset issue. It is often a nervous system response, shaped by stress, pressure, overthinking, perfectionism, and emotional overwhelm.

In this video, I explain why positive thinking alone can actually make anxiety worse, what may really be driving the cycle, and what supports lasting calm instead.

We’ll explore:

✨ why positive thinking can backfire
✨ the difference between thoughts and nervous system responses
✨ why anxiety is often deeper than mindset
✨ the role of perfectionism and over-responsibility
✨ what actually helps create lasting relief

If you’ve been feeling guilty because affirmations and positive thinking haven’t worked for you, this video is for you.

Trying to control your anxiety can feel like the obvious solution.

But sometimes, it is the very thing that keeps you stuck.

The more you try to force your thoughts away, suppress your feelings, or control every possible outcome, the more anxious your mind and body can become.

In this video, I explore why control-based strategies often backfire, what may really be happening in your nervous system, and what actually helps create lasting calm.

We’ll explore:

✨ why trying to control anxiety can increase it
✨ the difference between control and healthy management
✨ common habits that keep the anxiety cycle going
✨ how overthinking and avoidance feed anxiety
✨ what helps your nervous system feel genuinely safe

If you’ve ever found yourself constantly trying to “fix” your anxiety but still feeling trapped, this video is for you.

Why telling yourself to “just calm down” can actually make anxiety worse

If you’ve ever been told to “just calm down” when you’re anxious, overwhelmed, or panicking, you’re not alone — and if it never worked, there’s a reason for that.

In this video, I explain why forcing yourself to feel calm often backfires, what’s really happening in your nervous system during anxiety, and why this common advice can increase pressure, shame, and overthinking.

As a therapist, I work with clients who feel exhausted from racing thoughts, physical tension, panic symptoms, and chronic stress. The truth is, anxiety is not something you can simply switch off with willpower.

We’ll explore:

✨ Why “calm down” advice often makes anxiety worse
✨ What your nervous system is actually doing
✨ Why anxiety keeps returning
✨ The hidden patterns behind chronic overwhelm
✨ How therapy helps regulate anxiety properly
✨ Real ways to feel calm without forcing it

If you struggle with:

anxiety
panic attacks
overthinking
perfectionism
overwhelm
nervous system dysregulation
chronic stress

…this video will help you understand what’s really going on.

Anxiety is not weakness.
It’s a protective response — and once you understand it, healing becomes possible.

Do you ever wonder why, despite being smart, capable, and highly driven, your mind still won’t switch off?

The truth is, intelligence and anxiety often go hand in hand.

A highly analytical, problem-solving mind can be an incredible strength — but it can also keep your brain stuck in constant overthinking, planning, and worst-case-scenario thinking.

In this video, I explain why smart people often struggle with anxiety, why it is not a weakness, and what deeper patterns may be keeping the cycle going.

We’ll explore:

✨ why intelligent minds often overthink
✨ how problem-solving can turn into anxiety loops
✨ the link between perfectionism and worry
✨ why high achievers often struggle to rest
✨ what actually helps create lasting calm

If you’ve ever thought, “I should be able to handle this” or “Why can’t my mind just stop?” — this video is for you.

Have you tried every anxiety tip on the internet and still feel stuck?

Meditation. Breathing exercises. Positive thinking. Affirmations.

And yet the anxiety keeps coming back.

If that’s been your experience, please know this: it does not mean you are failing.

Very often, common anxiety advice only focuses on calming the symptoms in the moment, without addressing what is actually driving the anxiety underneath.

In this video, I explain why so much online anxiety advice can backfire, what may really be keeping the cycle going, and what longer-term healing can look like.

We’ll explore:

✨ why quick-fix anxiety tips often don’t last
✨ how shame and self-blame can worsen anxiety
✨ the deeper drivers like perfectionism and people pleasing
✨ why unprocessed emotions matter
✨ what actually supports lasting relief

If you’ve been thinking, “Why am I still anxious when I’ve tried everything?” — this video is for you.

Have you ever been told to “just take a deep breath” when you’re feeling anxious?

While breathing exercises can absolutely help in the moment, they are often only one small part of the bigger picture.

If anxiety keeps returning, it may be a sign that something deeper needs attention.

In this video, I explain why breathing exercises alone don’t usually fix anxiety long term, and what may really be sitting underneath it.

We’ll explore:

✨ why breathing exercises help calm the body temporarily
✨ what happens in the fight-or-flight response
✨ how overthinking keeps anxiety looping
✨ the role of people pleasing and pressure
✨ why unprocessed emotions can show up as anxiety
✨ what actually creates longer-term healing

If you’ve ever thought, “Why does my anxiety keep coming back even though I’m doing all the right things?” — this video will help you understand why.

If your mind won’t switch off, keeps replaying conversations, or constantly jumps to worst-case scenarios, this video is for you.

Overthinking is not a flaw, weakness, or something “wrong” with you. More often, it is your brain’s way of trying to protect you from uncertainty, emotional pain, or perceived danger.

In this video, I explain why overthinking happens, why it can feel impossible to stop, and what it may actually be trying to do for you beneath the surface.

We’ll explore:

✨ why your brain keeps running scenarios on repeat
✨ how overthinking feeds anxiety and overwhelm
✨ the deeper emotional patterns behind rumination
✨ why your nervous system stays on high alert
✨ practical ways to calm the thought loop

If you’ve ever found yourself asking, “Why can’t I just switch my brain off?” — I hope this helps you feel understood and supported.
