🤍 🌿 Chronic pain and emotional wellbeing.
Chronic pain often interferes with day to day living such as working, sleeping, enjoying long walks, carrying shopping bags or climbing the stairs.
Chronic pain also triggers the stress response which can keep us on high alert, this causes us to feel anxious and makes it more difficult to deal with the stresses of everyday life.
When we're in constant pain our cognitive functioning is reduced, often making it difficult to focus, concentrate or take in and store information.
This can leave us feeling frustrated, angry, sad, anxious, fatigued and sometimes isolated. It impacts a person's work and social life and limits day to day living.
Massage therapy is a complementary therapy that can be used alongside conventional medicine prescribed by a GP, to help manage some of the symptoms associated with Chronic pain.
