Early detection is the theme of this year's Head and Neck Cancer Day.
Symptoms depend on where in the head or neck the cancer started but may include
an ulcer, redness or soreness in the mouth area lasting for more than 3 weeks; a lump on the neck, lip or inside the mouth that does not go away after 2 to 3 weeks;
throat pain, persistent hoarseness or difficulty swallowing that is not improving.
