As September fast approaches, many children, parents, and teachers alike will be thinking about the start of the new school term. However, for a growing number of young people, the thought of stepping back into the classroom and school environment can be a daunting prospect.

Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) is on the rise, and here at Momenta Connect, we are on a mission to remove the stigma and barriers associated with EBSA; it’s not about defiance or a lack of motivation; it can be about fear, feeling overwhelmed, and a nervous system in distress.

At Momenta Connect, we work with children and young people who want to learn but need time, trust, and trauma-informed support to feel safe enough to do so. Through our live online learning, therapeutic coaching, and reintegration planning, we help pupils reconnect at their own pace.
