Sometimes, understanding what is going on can bring relief.

Many families begin to notice patterns over time. Overwhelm, anxiety, shutdown or growing difficulty with school. It can be hard to know what is behind it or what to do next.

For families exploring autism or ADHD, waiting for clarity can feel long and isolating. NHS waiting times are often around 18 months, but support does not have to wait. ๐Ÿ’›

Our assessments are available from age 4, with no GP referral needed. Appointments are offered online or through nationwide clinical hubs, so families can access support in a way that works for them.

Does your childโ€™s attendance change depending on how safe or settled they feel? ๐Ÿค”

One helpful thing to know is that attendance difficulties often show up before a child can explain what feels hard.

Noticing these patterns can help you respond sooner. Asking what feels hardest about the day, or which part causes the most worry, can give you valuable clues about what support might help.

When difficulties are recognised early and met with understanding, children are more likely to feel safe, supported and able to engage again. ๐Ÿค—

If this sounds familiar, support is available.

Meet Orla Morrison Head of Diagnostics and Specialist Occupational Therapist.

๐Ÿ’š What she does
Orla delivers a neuro-affirming, accessible and compassionate service for autistic children, young people and those with ADHD, and their families. She focuses on clear, strengths-based assessments and meaningful reports, while developing supportive post-diagnostic pathways that extend beyond assessment.

๐Ÿ’š Why her work matters
Orla believes Autism and ADHD assessments should be empowering, not defining. Her approach deepens understanding, affirms neurodivergent identities, and identifies supportive next steps within the child or young personโ€™s family and educational context.

๐Ÿ’š What she brings to Momenta
With experience across the NHS, local authorities, private clinics and education, Orla understands the real-world pressures faced by schools and families. She brings practical, neuro-affirming and compassionate solutions that support positive, lasting outcomes.

Weโ€™re proud to have her leading our Diagnostics at Momenta Connect.

๐ŸŽ‰ Celebrating International Day of Education.

For some children, education becomes hard because of anxiety, unmet needs or emotional overwhelm. Without the right support, barriers can grow quickly.

Momenta Connect works alongside families and schools to support children at different points in their education journey. This might include assessment, therapeutic support, alternative provision or help taking steady steps back into learning. ๐Ÿค—

Every childโ€™s path looks different. What matters is having support that meets them where they are and that's where we can help.

What does emotionally safe reintegration actually mean? ๐Ÿค”

It means helping a child return to school at a pace that feels manageable. Rather than rushing back to full days, it focuses on small, predictable steps that reduce anxiety and help confidence build over time.

This often includes gradual increases in attendance, consistent routines, trusted adults supporting transitions and regular check ins to understand how a child is coping before expectations change. See how we help below ๐Ÿ‘‡

If your child is finding returning to school difficult, you do not have to navigate it alone.

What happens when a child is not ready to return to school yet, but still needs connection, routine and learning?

Our live online learning ๐Ÿ’ป alongside therapeutic and attendance support with our reintegration coaches helps children stay connected to education while their confidence is rebuilt.

Our approach creates a safe, structured bridge until returning feels possible. Support is paced, joined up and centred around what the child can manage now, with next steps ๐Ÿ‘ฃ planned carefully and collaboratively.

If your child is struggling to return and needs support, we are here to help.

โฐ Long waiting times for autism and ADHD assessments leave many children and families in limbo.

In a new blog for SEND Network, our Clinical Director Kieran Lord explores how schools and services can better support children while they are waiting for diagnosis.

The focus is on acting early, responding to need rather than labels and closing the gap during long periods of uncertainty.

Does your child feel overwhelmed in busy classrooms or noisy environments?

For some children, especially those with sensory needs or anxiety, large spaces can feel unpredictable and exhausting. A calmer learning space can make a huge difference to how safe and settled they feel. ๐Ÿค—

In a Momenta Inclusion Hub, the environment is designed to reduce overload, support regulation and help children reconnect with learning at their own pace.

When children feel safe in their environment, their confidence grows and learning becomes possible again. A calmer space is not about stepping back. It is about giving children what they need so they can move forward. ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

If you're wondering whether a quieter space could help your child, we're here to support you.
