Wet age-related macular degeneration can cause sudden changes in central vision, making it harder to see clearly.
At SpaMedica, our specialist teams provide gentle, effective treatments that help slow the condition and protect sight.

Dropless, done right — with your eye health in mind. 👁️
Did you know that steroid medication used in dropless cataract surgery can sometimes raise eye pressure in a small number of patients? This pressure increase can happen weeks after surgery and, if unmanaged, may affect the optic nerve.
At SpaMedica, our dropless cataract surgery is performed by experienced surgeons who will modify the dose of steroid medication based on your individual needs, and to reduce the risk of increased pressure. Because dropless only works when it’s done safely. ✔️

Today we’re marking International Men’s Day, and it feels especially relevant after the thoughtful discussion we held with our fantastic warehouse team yesterday. We discussed men's health and wellbeing, the stigma around speaking up, and how we can support one another at work.
The team also took part in team building based activities, recognising each other’s strengths and the impact of encouragement.
We remain committed to raising awareness of men’s health and promoting wellbeing support whenever it’s needed. To keep the conversation going, colleagues are sending International Men’s Day e-cards to those who have offered support - a small gesture that can make a big difference.
We thank all the men across SpaMedica, and the wider sector, who make a difference every day. 🙌

Every story starts with a referral and ends with clearer vision.
Many patients have worries before their procedure, but as Rob says: “My advice for somebody that's been advised for surgery would be simply… just go for it.”
With a smooth referral, expert care, and clearer vision, our patients quickly go from worries to relief and joy after their surgery with SpaMedica. 💙

Clearer vision means safer roads.
Before cataract surgery, Doug struggled to drive in low light, battling glare and poor visibility every day. Then everything changed.
After treatment at SpaMedica, he saw colours come alive again and felt confident driving safely once more.
This Road Safety Week, we are celebrating every patient who has regained the clarity and confidence to stay safe behind the wheel.
Because clearer vision can make every journey brighter. ✨

Did you know? Cataracts can slowly reduce brightness and colour without you even noticing. 🤔
Audley shares in his video that before surgery, his vision was “like looking through a net curtain.” After treatment, he was amazed by how bright and vivid everything looked.
At SpaMedica, we are proud to help patients experience that same moment of clarity and rediscover the light they have been missing. 👁️

Glaucoma isn’t just one condition – it affects everyone differently. 👁️
That’s why early diagnosis and the right treatment are so important. At SpaMedica, our consultant-led team helps patients understand their type of glaucoma and manage it with expert care and ongoing support.
Here are the main types of glaucoma:
🔹Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma: The most common type; it often develops slowly and may not show early symptoms.
🔹Angle-Closure Glaucoma: Can appear suddenly and requires urgent treatment.
🔹Normal-Tension Glaucoma: Happens even when your eye pressure is normal.
🔹 Congenital Glaucoma: Affects babies and young children, needing early specialist care.
Knowing your type of glaucoma is the first step to protecting your sight. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way.
Today we express our deepest gratitude to those who have given so much.
On Remembrance Day we reflect on the courage, dedication, and resilience shown by our Armed Forces and their families, both past and present.
Join us in commemorating their legacy and ensuring their contributions are never forgotten. 🌺
