This was a brilliant few days with my Grace , we spent our voucher for a massage from last Christmas, we bubbled , baked and froze in the cold tub thingy. We detoxed and ate lovely food and the hot chocs were delicious.
We met some absolutely lovely ladies , and practiced beautiful yoga with Jo Eastham … was a real treat for me, so relaxed in Yoga Nidra, I definitely drifted , Grace was having a deep sleep had to wake her up 🤣 jo’s yoga is very similar to mine so, obviously I loved it ! 🥰
Grace made us do the splits at the end for a photo as we are fabulous in our 50’s 😬🥳😇
Highly recommend this retreat , second to mine and Jayne’s of course 😜

Get away from the busyness of Christmas and indulge in a truly relaxing experience as we release any stresses and worries of the season and let the music, healing sounds & essential oils soothe our senses and send us floating into a peaceful place .

This week we strengthen the knees !
The knees are the biggest joint in the body , and normally when an injury occurs the knee is never quite the same .
Regular maintenance is required .
In yoga we listen to our body, and notice areas of stiffness and immobility and don’t do anything that hurts.
Many injuries are caused by weak quadriceps, hamstrings & glutes … so this week we focus on postures that build strength in the area surrounding the knees and balances that promote joint stability.
Essential oils can help Inflammation in the knees , wintergreen , tumeric , frankincense, peppermint and more .
And hydration and diet .. foods like oily fish , berries, nuts , seeds and olive oil . ( basically a Mediterranean diet ) 🤗weight management and stretching every day . Make yoga a habit 😃
Some knee problems may be more serious and in that case seek help , but the looking after your knees still applies. 🥰

Yoga’s back this week!! After I’ve had a week of 50th celebrations. 🥳
My own personal goal was to be able to do the ‘ splits ‘ (hanumanasana) at 50 … here’s the proof and yes the dogs always want to get in on the pictures 🤪..
( this isn’t an easy pose for me so a warm up of the right muscles and listening to my body was key )

We’re also not doing this in class this week so don’t be put off 😂

Yey! Candlelit yoga is back tomorrow evening ! The darker nights and candles really set up a lovely atmosphere in our room at Rivington one studio 🙏
All classes are suitable for all abilities, regardless of size, height and age ! They’re just numbers … yoga is for all bodies, especially yours . 🤗
Carve out just a little time each week and watch you body mind and breath come into balance.
You’ll leave with a Happy heart and a peaceful mind .

Each class is £10 cash on arrival or book a 5 week block for £45 .

SLOW DOWN & PREPARE FOR AUTUMN.🍂
This is the time of longer nights & shorter days and you may notice a shift in your energy.
After the busy months of summer autumn is a time to bring balance back into our lives . 🍁
This week we will slow down in our yoga practice and linger in the poses while we breathe in for the count of 4 and out for the count of 4.(Slowing down the breath can help reduce stress & calm the mind )
We will Finnish with a lovely grounding essential oil called Balance on the 3rd eye and a beautiful meditation called The Tree: for overwhelm and clouded thoughts . 🌳💜
