Partners Jim & Moira offer treatments for the relief & prevention of muscular pain and related issues. Daughter Katie offers relaxing Swedish massage.
Jim focuses on using deep tissue sports techniques whereas Moira uses the Emmett light touch technique. ABOUT OUR TREATMENTS:
Sports (or Remedial) Massage aims to relieve pain and limited mobility related to muscle and soft-tissue stress and strain. Muscle pain can be acute or can accumulate over time and has many causes. Often it’s just the result of a quick or sudden movement or unaccustomed strain on the muscle and can come about from everyday activities like gardening and DIY just as easily as from sport. A remedial massage treatment can ease the pain and restore the muscle much more rapidly and effectively than rest and pain killers and is the choice of athletes and sports persons precisely because it can bring you back to fitness quickly. Even just one treatment can have speedy results although several may be necessary for long-term or chronic conditions. The EMMETT Technique uses a combination of direct finger pressure and gentle pressured switches to bring about relaxation to specific areas of the body to allow it to return to a better state of balance. The results are often dramatic, and can be instantaneous, with most clients acknowledging the improvements in ease and movement before leaving the clinic. REIKI originated in Japan many hundreds of years ago as a form of complimentary energy healing. It is deeply relaxing to receive and benefits the mind and mental wellbeing as well as the physical body. Reiki is a wonderful tool to help restore balance and to provide support through anxiety and stress and it can be safely used alongside other treatments including chemo and radiotherapy. ABOUT US:
Jim works regularly with athletes from many disciplines including Football and Rugby, Golfers, Runners and Triathletes. He has worked with Livingston FC as well as local club Whitehill Welfare to keep their players in top condition. He has also worked with Glasgow Warriors and the Scottish Women’s Rugby teams. Moira is passionate about helping people live pain-free without causing more pain the process. It is truly surprising what conditions can be helped with the EMMETT Technique and this is a key tool in her treatments. Moira loves riding and treats horses with EMMETT and REIKI as well as people. No matter who you are or your sport (or non sport) background, we can help. Well we’re into the final few weeks here and we now have this Wednesday 2pm available 🙂
Everyone targets 10,000 steps - but a lower tally could reduce the risk of serious health issues like cancer, dementia and heart disease, a study suggests.

Well, what do you know!
We’re full this week but have availability from next Tuesday

Although currently the massage therapist for Livingston FC, I treat people from all walks of life (sports and non-sports) and for varied conditions from general muscle pain such as neck and back pain and stress-related tension and migraines, to specific conditions like repetitive strain injuries, shoulder rotator-cuff restrictions, plantar fasciitis, and sciatic nerve entrapments.
The Remedial & Sports treatment will comprise of several of the following techniques:
o Deep Tissue Massage: deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension
o Myofascial Release: releases tension in the fascia, the connective tissue surrounding
muscles, bones, nerves and organs of the body
o Soft Tissue Release: a technique of assisted stretching of muscle fibres, tendons & fascia
o Cross Fibre Friction: this technique aims to breakdown and decrease knots and lesions
which were formed during an injury such as tears, breaks or sprains
o Neuro-Muscular Techniques: treats hypertonic (excessively toned or tight) muscles by
applying deep forced pressure
o Muscle Energy Techniques: uses the gentle muscle contractions of the patient to relax,
lengthen and normalise joint motion
o Trigger Point Therapy: application of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to
relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body
o Joint Mobilisation: a passive movement of a joint aiming to achieve a therapeutic effect
(relieve pain & muscle spasms, release tension and improve flexibility in a joint)

60 min treatment - £45.00; 90 min - £65
Consultations (with initial appointment) - free of charge
