Men’s Shed helps Panto!

The Phoenix Theatre engaged the help of the Bordon Men's Shed to construct scenery for their production of Screw-ged, a naughty version of the old panto. They asked to make some headstones for the graveyard and New York-style skyscrapers for the background. Volunteer Fair Bordon
Today 19th November there was a volunteer fair at the Forest Centre, and many charities and volunteer groups were invited to attend and show off their particular skill or activity.

Bordon Men’s Shed set up a display in the Main Hall in the centre to show visitors what we can do and what can be achieved. Members of the Shed included Jim Bryant, Chairman; Theo Scott, Treasurer; Reg Bettles, Trustee; and Clive Handy; Secretary.

The event was well attended and we had a few enquiries about when we are opening and what facilities we can offer. We took some names and will let them know when the workshop is fully functional.

So, after the installation of our ex-site cabins on land behind the Phoenix Theatre, Bordon, we have been transferring our tools and machinery, including benches into the new area. Howdens of Bordon were kind enough to give us 50% discount on 6 new wall cupboards which have been mounted on the wall. We also have offers of tools and equipment fomr Wickes of Alton. Watch this space for developments! This is the two site cabins joined together with a bridging tunnel, all supplied and installed by Wernicks of Farnham.

The Men's Shed presented a plaque to Taylor Wimpey Bordon to recognise their generous donation to our funds to buy tools etc.
Toni of Taylor Wimpey told us she would try to get us some more grants.
