It’s World Diabetes Da and in my Slimming World groups, we welcome and support people living with or at risk of type 2 diabetes every single week 🥰. Whether it’s type 1, type 2 or prediabetes, we understand the challenges – and we have real-life, practical strategies to help ✨.

With the help of Diabetes UK, we’ve deepened our understanding of diabetes – and I’ve got the tools and training to support you on your journey 🙌.

Dianne Hunt is just one of my lovely successful members with Diabetes that found hope in her group at Freiston and having lost over 3stone goes on to tell us, “For me, before Slimming World, I was massively overweight, sluggish, my HbA1c tests ( where your sugar levels are tested over a 3 month period) were always way too high. After years of not taking care of myself and just accepting i was just another " diabetic" I was threatened with having to go on insulin by my doctor. That's when I knew I finally had to do something, not only for myself but for my wellbeing. Losing weight has brought my sugar levels down to being almost pre diabetic, I have more energy and a lot more confidence. Slimming world has literally given me a new lease of life”.

At 11am, we remember.
Not just the history, but the human stories. The courage. The loss. The hope.

In our busy lives, it’s moments like these that remind us of the strength found in unity, compassion, and peace.

Last week in group, we had the absolute joy of celebrating our Icon Competition winners, and what a moment it was. This was our chance to recognise some truly amazing members who’ve not only transformed their health, but also grown in confidence, self-belief, and that beautiful sense of family within our group.

They look and feel fantastic, and their stories? Utterly inspiring. Some were tear-jerkers, all were powerful reminders of what’s possible when you keep showing up for yourself.

We couldn’t be more proud of our incredible icons. You’re shining examples of strength, courage, and community, and we’re lucky to have you.
