๐Ÿ’œ Patient Feedback ๐Ÿ’œ

So thankful for all the maternity staff at pilgrim. After what felt like a really long emotional wait, I had the most amazing experience and the best birth on 4th December. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Even though the labour ward was busy, they still made sure everybody was looked after and made to feel so comfortable. A special thank you to my midwife Megan tetther who delivered my son Charlie, I couldn't of done it without you, you wasnt just a midwife but also an amazing birth partner. I really will remember you and this birth, it was one of the most beautiful, special moments in my life. Thank you so much.

๐Ÿ’œ Patient Feedback ๐Ÿ’œ

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Sarah, the midwife who supported me through the birth of my daughter Clara on 31 December.
From the very beginning, Sarah showed incredible kindness, professionalism, and patience. She guided me through every stage of labour with reassurance and gentle confidence. Her ability to explain what was happening, her steady encouragement, and her genuine care made me feel supported and empowered throughout the entire experience.
What meant the most to me was how attentive and understanding she was. Sarah listened to my needs, respected my choices, and made sure I felt comfortable at every moment. She brought a sense of warmth and calm into the room that helped me stay focused and positive, even during the most intense moments.
Thanks to Sarah, the arrival of little Clara was filled with joy, safety, and love. I will always remember her compassion and the role she played in welcoming my daughter into the world. She is truly exceptional at what she does, and I feel incredibly lucky to have had her by my side.

I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to the whole team who helped us along the way. Every person we met showed genuine care, warmth, and dedication. From the encouragement during labour to the support afterward, each member played an important role in making our experience positive and comforting.

Thank you, Sarah โ€” you helped turn a challenging day into a beautiful memory. ###

๐Ÿ’œ Patient Feedback ๐Ÿ’œ

Hi, I wanted to send a message about my wonderful experience when I gave birth to my son Arthur on Wednesday 26th November 2025 by emergency c section. Danni was my midwife and she was absolutely fantastic with student midwife Kate it was a scary experience but they made me feel so at ease and wonderful people the care they gave me was amazing and the maternity ward all the midwives and staff are absolutely fantastic. The care you receive is out of this world and I will be extremely grateful to each and every one of you. I had my complications with gestational diabetes and high blood pressure and was admitted a fair few times but each and every time the staff made me feel so comfortable and when you walk into maternity ward all staff remember you and have a chat itโ€™s lovely atmosphere.
Thank you for my wonderful experience.

Patient feedback for baby girl number 2 -

Itโ€™s been just over 3 weeks since baby girl number 2 came into the world and again, we have nothing but praise for the wonderful team at Pilgrim ๐Ÿ’•
Our biggest thank you and gratitude has to go to Elli, our wonderful midwife who was there from start to finish! She listened to me and respected every one of my weird worries and requests and after just over 7 hours, brought our baby girl safely into the world and we will forever be grateful!
Every person that then cared for us the following day, from the doctors to the nurses, were amazing and kind and made our experience the best it could possibly be.
Oakleigh-Mae came home to her 3 year old sister, Willow-Grace, who is absolutely besotted with her and being the best big sister!!! โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅฐ
Thank you again for all you do!

BIRTH STORY ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ

My birth story - Baby Oscar

What an amazing birth I had this time round with baby number 2. I was booked to be induced on Thursday 6th November (41+4) but baby boy had other ideas. After an internal examination on the Saturday before (no sweep) to check what my cercix was doing & see how favourable I was. I then saw my midwife again on Wednesday 5th & agreed to have a sweep at around 11am (I was already 3cmโ€™s & my waters were ready to go/be broken), by 1:30pm I was having contractions at home. They ramped up pretty quick (every 7/9 mins) so got my hubby back home from work, prepped my bags & called the hospital. They were fantastic over the phone & told me to stay home, have a bath & labor at home as long as possible. I did all that & even did sparklers (bonfire night) with my toddler, hubby & my mum whilst having contractions.

At around 7pm I was really uncomfortable, contractions were coming quite quickly so called the hospital again & arranged to go in. We got to Pilgrim at about 7:45pm where the contractions were really intense & I couldnโ€™t speak! I was taken to my room & introduced to my lovely midwife. I had also called Jagoda (my student midwife who was on call) on my way to Pilgrim & she arrived soon after us which was lovely to have a friendly face. I just wanted to be on the floor for whatever reason so I did a downward facing dog to get baby away from the cervix with the intense pain & when I sat back up my waters broke on their own!

I then got given a crash mat & peanut ball because my body was just telling me to be on floor, laid on my left side & right leg up so I went with it. I had solely gas & air & my TENS machine for pain relief the whole time (hubby controlling that because I couldnโ€™t cope with the contractions & pressing the button).

After a lot of contractions I had this sudden urge from top to bottom to push so I told the midwives that I could feel his head (not sure they believed I was ready) but when they looked, his head was coming. Every contraction came & most of them I felt the urge to push so pushed & then at 10:05pm he was born. I had delayed cord cutting & lots of skin to skin. After hubby cut the cord, I was moved back to the bed & Oscar latched straight away, continued skin to skin & my breastfeeding journey started. I struggled with my first baby & didnโ€™t breastfeed (only expressed) so this meant to the world to me this time. I stayed on the labor ward until the early hours of the morning on Thursday & then I was transferred to the maternity ward. Myself & Oscar had all our checks & then we were discharged at about 1pm.

I also had Jagoda who was a student midwife with me the whole time & after seeing her at 11am I donโ€™t think she expected me to call her that evening. Jagoda was amazing, so helpful and calm the whole time. Oscar was her 39th birth out of 40 births she needed for her case study.

Iโ€™ll be forever grateful for Pilgrim hospital for helping to bring both our beautiful boys into the world.

๐Ÿ’œ Patient Feedback ๐Ÿ’œ

Hi, I just wanted to send a message and thank the midwifeโ€™s involved with my care! So many to remember all the names after multiple trips but my delivery midwifeโ€™s will always have a special place in my heart now - just another day at work for them but Emma Cody & Student midwife Lauren were incredible! My little boy was born on the 21st October and after a long induction but short labour. Emma has delivered both my babies now, 5 years apart and I will never forget them with no way of really showing appreciation! Thank you so much to all of them involved!๐Ÿฉต
