The Butterfly Hospice Trust

The Butterfly Hospice Trust Your local hospice for local people. The Butterfly hospice sits within 4 acres of grounds near to Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, Lincolnshire.

The Butterfly Hospice - We are an independent, local charity working to provide palliative and end of life care to people with a life-limiting illness. We offer palliative and end of life care to anyone over the age of 18 years free of cost to them and their family. Working in partnership with other healthcare providers, the hospice provides inpatient facilities, including symptom control, respite and end of life care. We rely on the generosity of our community for the majority of our funding. Our work can only continue with the support of local people, companies and organisations that give their time and money to fundraise on our behalf. Our thanks go to them and our staff and volunteers in the hospice and shops for their hard work and
dedication.

Today is Social Prescribing Day, a day to celebrate the organisations, communities and people who help support wellbeing beyond traditional medical care.

Social prescribing recognises that health is about more than just medicine. It’s about creating connections and having the opportunity to take part in activities that improve wellbeing.

Here at The Butterfly Hospice Trust, we see the value of this every day through our support groups to volunteering opportunities, these services enable people to come together, share experiences and feel supported.

Social prescribing helps open the door to these opportunities, ensuring people can access the right support at the right time.

Today we’re proud to stand alongside the many organisations and professionals who make social prescribing possible and help strengthen the wellbeing of our community.

Freddie is going the distance in his fundraising efforts!

On Sunday 12th April 2026, Freddie will be taking on the Boston UK Marathon to raise money for the Hospice in memory of his grandmother, who was cared for here.

Freddie shared why this challenge means so much to him:

“I’m running the Boston UK Marathon to raise money for the Butterfly Hospice as a thank you for the support they gave my family during a very difficult time. After experiencing personally what families go through when a loved one reaches the final stages of life, I want to help the Hospice continue providing the care, comfort and dignity that people deserve.

I’m also doing this in memory of my grandmother and hope to inspire others to chase their goals no matter how difficult.”

Freddie has already raised over 70% of his fundraising target, which is an incredible achievement, but let’s help him reach the finish line and smash his goal.

If you would like to support Freddie and the Hospice, you can donate here: https://bit.ly/4s5mikU

Good luck Freddie, we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way 🦋🏃‍♂

Something exciting is happening at our Furniture Warehouse & Donation Centre in Boston.

We are expanding the space to create a brand new donation sorting hub. This larger area will help us process the generous donations we receive more efficiently, allowing more items to reach our shops and hit the shelves even quicker!

Behind every donation is a team of dedicated volunteers who help sort, organise and prepare items ready for resale. As our warehouse grows we are also looking for more volunteers to join the team and help support this important work.

If you would like to give something back, meet new people and be part of our friendly team we would love to hear from you.

If you are interested in volunteering you can apply online here: https://bit.ly/3TbFz3n

Thank you for choosing to support our charity and for raising an incredible £1,307 through your Galentines Social. We are so grateful for the generosity of everyone who supported, attended and donated, it makes a real difference to the care that we provide 💙

Proud to present £1,307 to the The Butterfly Hospice Trust raised from our Galentines Social. 🦋💜

This incredible total wouldn’t have been possible without everyone who attended, donated, and supported the event. It was such a special evening bringing people together for a meaningful cause, and we’re so grateful to be able to give back to a charity that provides such compassionate care and support to local families.

The Butterfly Hospice is always investing money back into their own services, ensuring patients and their families are as comfortable and supported as possible during some of life’s most difficult times.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen — your generosity truly makes a difference.

Same again next year? ☺️
