IMPORTANT NOTICE - KEEPING YOU IN THE LOOP
Dear Patients of Boston & Coningsby Practices,
At the moment, we continue to follow Government guidelines and both practices remain closed for routine eye examinations.
We are, however, open for emergency and essential eyecare for patients who have ocular problems deemed non routine. For this we have an answer machine on stand-by 24/7 our normal number for Boston is 01205 365395 and Coningsby 01526 344556 and we are checking messages on a regular basis. If you need to speak to someone rather than leave a message, a mobile telephone number is provided on the answerphone message.
Anyone calling will be triaged as per guidelines and given advice or an appointment, should the need arise.
We are still available to order and post out contact lenses on request. Please call and leave a message and we will get back to you.
In readiness for return:
This phase of lockdown has given us time to bring in strict procedures to protect both staff and patients.
Each patient, when making an appointment in the future, will be asked several questions regarding their wellbeing.
We would respectfully request anyone requiring an appointment to do this by telephone rather than coming into the practice, to keep contact to a minimum. We have 3 phone lines so getting through to us should not be a problem.
Your visit and what to expect:
Every patient will be asked to wear a mask or face covering upon entry to the building and will have their temperature taken using an infra-red thermometer. Questions regarding contact and possible symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked.
Hand sanitiser will be available and everyone is required to use this both on entry and exit of the building.
We respectfully request that patients do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to their appointment time. Please enter via the front door only when the electronic lock is released, this will indicate it is safe and clear to do so. Numbers will be restricted in the waiting area, and if, for any reason the practice has its maximum number of people in the building, you may be asked to wait in your vehicle, in our car park. We will indicate to you when it is then safe to enter into reception.
Between each patient, all surfaces and equipment will be sterilised with the appropriate products, in the consulting rooms, dispensing areas and reception. All frames will be sterilised with Ultra Violet Light.
Staff will be wearing PPE as approved by the AOP and Government and we will ask for patients to keep a 2 metre distance from our reception desk unless signing an NHS form. Screens have been erected for everyone’s protection.
We hope this reassures you that we are taking all the necessary steps to keep everyone safe and to stop the spread of COVID-19, both in our Boston and Coningsby practices.
We wish you well and look forward to welcoming you back into the “new normal”
Please “follow us” for any further up-dates.
Kind regards, David Hilton and Tracey Griffiths
