🌟 We’re Bringing Back Our Patient Participation Group! 🌟

The Welby Practice is re-establishing its Patient Participation Group (PPG) and would love to hear from patients or carers of patients who want to help shape the future of our services.

The PPG works in partnership with the practice to:
✔ Provide constructive patient feedback
✔ Support ideas for service improvement
✔ Improve communication with patients
✔ Represent the views of our wider patient population

No previous experience is needed — just a willingness to work respectfully, maintain confidentiality, and act in the best interests of all patients.

Interested in joining? ✍️ Please contact reception to complete an expression of interest form, which will be passed to the Chair.

💗 Heart Failure Research at Welby 💗

To mark Heart Month, we’re working in partnership with a local GP practice on a heart failure research study.

Over the coming weeks, patients who meet the eligibility criteria may be contacted with information about the study. Taking part is entirely voluntary, and being contacted does not mean you are obliged to participate.

This research aims to improve understanding and future care for people living with heart failure. If you are contacted, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether participation is right for you.

Thank you for supporting research that helps improve patient care.

💘 Valentine’s Date… With Your Cervix! 💘

Roses are red, violets are blue,
Your cervix wants a check-up… and so do you! 😅

Cervical screening is a quick, simple test for women aged 25–64 that looks for HPV — a virus that can sometimes lead to cervical cancer. It only takes 10 minutes and could save your life.

This Valentine’s, show yourself some love — book your screening! 💖

👶💉 MMRV Vaccination – A Guide for Parents

The MMRV vaccine protects children against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (chickenpox) — four infections that can be serious, particularly in young children.

We’re sharing a helpful guide for parents that explains:
• What the MMRV vaccine is
• When it’s offered
• Why it’s important
• Answers to common questions

ℹ️ Important information for parents
There is a slightly increased risk of febrile convulsions (fits caused by a fever) in young children following the MMRV vaccine, compared to giving the MMR and chickenpox vaccines separately. These convulsions can be frightening but are usually short-lived and do not cause long-term harm.

You can find more detailed information here:
