And here’s why...

Supporting matrescence - helping new mums realise that they are born as a mother at the same time as their baby is born fills my heart. Helping mums to manage their expectations of what this new life can look like, and supporting them while they embrace the changes rather than fight them. I could have done with this help when I became a mum so I love being there for others.

Newborn cuddles - need I say more! They’re the best!

Helping pregnant mums advocate for their wishes - helping women see there are options and you can ask for alternatives - and helping build the confidence to hold their one voices. Priceless.

Building community - I love hearing about friendships building from my pregnancy groups, seeing a group of mums support each other. Seeing that village begin. Amazing.

Seeing someone heal - it fills my heart.

Feeling people’s energy shift - seeing the impact in real time of healing, especially during a reiki session. It’s so special and I can’t get enough of it.

Holding space for women in circles - circles give us power, there’s a reason the patriarchy doesn’t want us to do it! I love a circle. Whether I’m hosting or taking part, they’re amazing.

The science of the nervous system - I LOVE teaching about this and I LOVE learning more about it. The brain and the body is incredible and capable of so much!

Understanding what your body is doing during labour can help you release fear of the unknown and the uncertainty. During my hypnobirthing and antenatal sessions I always bring out the pelvis to explain the things we can do to help your baby’s position.

Do your own research. Find out what induction really means and what it involves. It’s important to manage your expectations because induction can (and often is) lengthy, tiring, more painful, stressful, and more likely to require interventions.

Talking induction is a big part of every conversation I have with expectant parents. It’s important you are informed and understand what your body (and mind) will go through.

Knowing your initiation will help in pregnancy, birth, and into motherhood. I won’t ever override your instincts, or tell you what to write in your birth plan - but I’ll help you know what your options are and how to confidently make informed decisions.
