Some of my favourites recently!

Colours - tick!
Variety - tick!
High protein - tick! (Maybe not the chocolate cake and pizza but not everything needs to be high protein 🤷‍♀️)
Balanced macros - tick!
Supports my training and lifestyle - tick!
Tasty? - Double tick!

Eating whilst on a fitness journey does not mean you have to restrict!

Once you unlock that fear of food, you'll then start to see the results you are after.

I ate all of these whilst I was cutting for my weightlifting comp - I'm not 💩ing you!

They are super tasty, highly nutritious and good fuel.

Well, the competition is finally over, and let me tell you, it was an emotional rollercoaster!

It was hard to know what to expect going in and I learnt a lot.

On the platform, I missed all my sn**ches. I was gutted. Warm up couldn’t have gone better, which is why I was happy to open at 61. But when I got to it, the environment threw me, I got in my own head and felt so disconnected from the bar.

I was incredibly frustrated with myself.

Luckily, I was able to still have a go at performing my clean and jerks. I hit all 3, hit a power clean PB and a clean and jerk PB.

I had to keep reminding myself that it’s how we pick ourselves up from failure is what’s important. I was determined to not leave feeling completely defeated.

I’m proud of how I handled it and what I’ve learned from this experience. 💪

What I’m taking away from this is mentality is everything. I know this is just the beginning of my weightlifting journey, and I’m even more motivated for what’s to come!

Whether you’ve competed before or are thinking about it, I just want to say—don’t wait for the perfect moment to compete. You’ll learn so much from just stepping onto that platform, and I’m already looking forward to my next comp.

Save this post if you need that extra push to get out of your comfort zone and follow me for more updates on my weightlifting journey!

These 2 truths are preventing you from seeing personal growth.

We know that:

Knowledge = Power

Time = Learning/Experience

How can you learn, experience and become more knowledgeable to unlock your potential when you don't have the time? 🧐

My clients face this all the time when they start with me.

They simply don't think they have the time it takes to give to fitness. ❌

Let alone if you are trying to do it by yourself.

You're already starting on the back foot without the time, energy or knowledge necessary to support yourself. 👎🏼

It's my passion to see you grow, which is why I made my FREE Unlocking your First Toes to Bar course to help you know the essentials as simply as possible.

I'm currently training to compete in my first weightlifting competition.

I'm sharing this to keep myself accountable and also to share what it's really like to prepare for a competition.

I had a video filmed and ready to go but when I watched it back I realised it wasn't a true picture of what it's been like and I found it boring to watch 🙈😂

So I'm writing this to explain what it's been like so far...

I've cut down on met-cons and have only focussed on strength and lifting technique sessions. This has seen my strength soar and I've hit a load of PB's recently but this week I feel completely broken.

I've had to cut back on training a lot this week because for the first time in years my back, knees and ankles are playing up. Not ideal, especially when people keep asking me how comp prep is going and I sound like Moaning Myrtle 😅

My main aim right now is to make sure I feel okay. My competition is on the 12th October. I'm not going to get any massive strength gains in the next few weeks so now I really need to look after myself and aim for consistent lifting.

When I jumped on the scales, I was also heavier than I initially thought I would be (I don't weight myself very regularly) so I have had to make some changes to my nutrition and activity to do my best to get down to the category I entered.

It's only my first comp and an entry level one but I still put pressure on myself to do the best I can and that can feel nerve wracking at times. For me, I compete to do well - I'm not a compete for fun person, I've tried that and it's not for me!

I love weightlifting. Improving at it has been my passion since I started just over 18months ago and this is why I'm competing - because I enjoy it. I'd do it all day long if I could!

But working towards any goal is never going to be easy. I've got some big long term goals in relation to lifting but let's just see how this goes first 😬

I hope this goes some way to show that's it's not all sunshine and rainbows when you're working towards something you really want, but it's going to be worth it in the end. I know it!

I started working with Kay in July as she was the winner of my free month of coaching!

When we first met, Kay didn’t have any kind of training routine, was unsure of how to even get started and found it difficult to make time for quality meals alongside her busy work life.

She was gearing up for the busiest time of year with her business and I loved her can do attitude. She knew she was going to be busy but that didn’t stop her!

By working together using my coaching strategies, I helped Kay transform the way she approached her routine and habits.

We added in a workout structure she could do from home with minimal equipment.

And we discussed how we were going to approach nutrition: she didn’t want to count calories (which I am all for) but instead we focussed on building great habits surrounding food and kept a food log to encourage more mindful choices.

Kay is now absolutely smashing her workouts, has lost weight and has even asked for more training to be added to her programming 💪

I am so proud of you and your journey, Kay!

If you're looking to get some serious results this year...

I've got limited spaces for my Skills & Drills Club.

Don't miss out!

Food is fuel team.

My clients and I live busy lives, but we all have to remember the importance of being prepared and planning ahead to help us reach our goals.

Hopefully these meals leave you feeling inspired when you're next in the kitchen, they are all balanced, healthy and easy!

Just because they are not in Tupperware doesn't mean they haven't been prepped - I like to cook a big helping and have one serving fresh before I pot them up. It saves me thinking of an additional dinner idea!

Save this post, and DM me if you'd like further info on any recipe 😆
