The sustainability benefits of fighting food waste have now gone a step further with the help of BaxterStorey and Waste Knot UK , who rescue surplus fruit and veg from UK farmers to create and sell more sustainable dishes that raise money for charitable causes.

Through a donation of £690 from the BaxterStorey WSH
Foundation to The Crumbs Project to help train disadvantaged adults in catering and hospitality, individuals facing barriers will be able to gain and sustain employment and lead brighter, more included lives.

🍂Autumn Showcase Meal Event 🍂
With support from Services our talented team staged another fabulous Showcase Meal event for guests at our charity’s professional training centre in Bournemouth. We were joined on the day by chefs Dan & Charlie from BaxterStorey and James & Alice from The Pig Hotel

This event’s theme was ‘Celebrating Autumn’, with guests delighting in a warming selection of starters, mains, and desserts inspired by the colours of Autumn. 🍂🍂

Food Production & Service trainees and staff team members designed a menu The ’Autumn’ theme gave trainees the opportunity to create classic modern dishes using their knowledge learnt during their training.

This event was made possible by a kind donation from Services, the official sponsor of Showcase Meal events The Crumbs Project in 2025. 🌟

Our Story

Welcome to The Crumbs Project. We are non-profit organisation that works with adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues and stabilised addictions. Through a mix of practical skills learning and work experience we provide our trainees with the opportunity to build their confidence, learn new skills and lead a life of independence.

At Crumbs our trainees have the opportunity to develop skills in catering, hospitality, administration and housekeeping. Trainees usually undertake a two year training programme and then are supported into either paid or voluntary work placements.

To enable Crumbs to carry out the important work we do with vulnerable individuals we offer a variety of catering services across Dorset. Our team provides a range of hot and cold food services, as well as celebration cakes- ideal for business meetings, training, conferences, weddings, parties or other events. All our food is freshly prepared, cost effective, and well presented. We are able to cater for any dietary requirements and available weekdays, weekends and evenings. It's really easy to order and a free delivery service is also available locally.
