Slipper checklist you should know 🧦

❄️ Winter often means cosy slippers but wearing the right ones can do more than warm your toes, keeping feet and joints a little happier 🦶🏻

Here are some things to look for:

✅ A heel cup (not mules). Having a closed back helps keep your foot in place. We don’t always have perfect gait walking round the house, but let’s keep the shuffling to a minimum, a heel cup helps prevent this and gives extra stability.

✅ A non-slip sole can help prevent trips, slips and falls

✅ Some structure or arch support can help if this is something you find helpful in your regular day to day shoes and with certain foot conditions. If you can’t find a specific orthotic pair you can always pop an orthotic in a regular pair as I have here.

✅ Cushioning - soft but supportive padding absorbs some of the impact of walking on hard floors

Remember if you need specific advice you can always ask your local podiatrist. 👍🏻

Good slippers are more than just fluffy but can really help with all those indoor everyday steps! 👣

I really believe one of the best ways to make progress with your health (physical and mental), pain, injury or ability is to learn.

🧠 Learn about the body. Learn about your OWN individual body. Be curious, take an interest in yourself, learn what works and apply it in a way that works for you.

🤷🏼‍♀️ After all you will know yourself better than anyone else! No one can do that bit for you.

🪷 Want what you would want for your closest friends and family. I am assuming this is good things! 😛 Be the one that fights for you! Your future self definitely wants you to pay attention. Visualise them just off in the distance, on the horizon crossing their fingers🤞😆

THINGS CAN ALWAYS CHANGE FOR THE BETTER

November round-up!

I choose this month to post less on social media and spend my valuable time doing other things. It was lovely and the month has flown by!

I am sure other businesses can relate. Social media is great for free advertising, exposure and showing others what you and your business area all about. But it can also become too demanding and time consuming at the expense of the other more important things….

Everything is a balance. You only have so much time, so much resource, it’s important that you choose intentionally where to spend it! Wanna read more check out the blogs…

✨This month marks one year since I opened the doors to Pine Vale Chiropractic and welcomed the first patients into the clinic. It’s been such a rewarding year — full of learning, growth, and meeting some lovely people!

Without rest, everything else — from your strength to your stress levels and immune system — begins to falter.

🚘 We wouldn’t expect to be able to drive from the South coast of England to Scotland, on half a tank of fuel! But for some reason when it comes to our own capacity, we often neglect to see its limits.

🧠 Having a limit is just a FACT of physiology, but sometimes it comes laden with negative emotions such as guilt or not feeling capable enough.

🛌 Rest however, shouldn’t just be a reward but rather a foundation. Really!

🧘🏼‍♀️ Rest is not just sleep, but so much more, including physical rest, mental rest, sensory rest and emotional rest.

🌱 It allows us to reset, build and grow.
