Hi everyone! Help needed!

I'm looking for young people (18-30yrs) with religious beliefs to fill out my survey about their experience in counselling. If you know of anyone, please could you pass this along and share share share :) it's completely anonymous!

Hi everyone,
If you're looking for some support for your mental and emotional health, I highly recommend this 8 week course I am running which is a combination of Mindfulness and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

What will it involve?
A group of people joining together, led by me, to learn more about mental and emotional health, learning practical skills and offering support to each other.

What will we do?
Participate in meditations (screen off, in the privacy of your own home), discuss thought provoking poems and stories, explore CBT exercises, learn coping skills and understand more about mental and emotional health.

When is it?
7-9 pm Every Tuesday evening for 8 weeks, starting June 7th

Where is it?
It will be on zoom so anyone can join in

Who is it for?
This course will be for women 18+

How much is it?
The course is £180. Payment is upfront. Refer a friend and save £30 on your own course.

What qualifications do I have?
I am an accredited teacher of the Mindfulness Now Programme, MBCT certified by the BPS.

Sooo excited! Just submitted my application to do a masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy for children, adolescents and families.
It's been a long hard slog to get to this point but I'm feeling ready to embark on this last step of the journey. Another 3 years will whiz by and then I'll be qualified to really begin helping in this mental health crisis our society is experiencing. Bring it on! 🙂

Mindful Monday

Acceptance is a huge part of mindfulness. Learning to accept the present without clinging to the good or resisting the bad.

Both good times and bad times won't last. The only certainty of life is uncertainty!

Which is why it's so crucial to have an inner state of calm, strength and resilience we can draw in at all times.

How do you cope with grief and loss?

This post is close to my heart today. Yesterday we said farewell to a dear friend who at only 28 lost her battle with cancer.

Over this past week I've noticed times when the thoughts and feelings of loss started to surface and I needed to suppress them to get on with my day.

At other times, I allowed myself to feel them, to let the crushing feeling in my chest move to my head, to have a cry and to think of her family who must now carry on without her.

Grief is such a powerful emotion. I have offered some mental health tips here in this post but I would love to also hear of your experience.

Wellness Wednesday

Definitely a difficult one! Which do you find hardest?

I know in the past I've worried too much about what other people think about me. I'm trying hard on this one!

I don't think I'm controlled by money at all, but I'm sure I'm not alone when I wish we had enough money to fix all the things that need fixing in our house. However, I'm aware that the more we earn the more we spend...so do we ever feel there is enough?

One big journey for me has been making peace with past experiences. This has been difficult and mindfulness has helped a lot. Learning to accept our lives, the good and bad, and appreciating what we have learned and how we have grown from those difficult times. It's something I'm working on and feel has brought me significant peace when I achieve it.
