In my capacity as a psychotherapist working in the field of S*x & Po*******hy Addictions therapy, I thoroughly appreciated this opportunity with Dhrimaj to discuss mental health in the context of the workplace, Gen Z, and the role of empathic leaders to support and foster cultures of emotional safety (alongside building resilience).

Have you noticed changes in your partner, such as mood, withdrawal, especially regarding intimacy, or s*xual issues such as erectile dysfunction? Possibly you have been experiencing this yourself. It may be related to your po*******hy viewing habits as discussed in this article.

In the UK, thousands of men over 40 are addicted to po*******hy, and it's clear to me as a s*x and relationship therapist that this addiction is destroying s*x lives and marriages.

Talking about the damaging effects of po*******hy is Billie Eilish and how it 'destroyed my brain'. It takes great courage to speak out and I applaud her in raising awareness. *xualhealth *xaddiction

The singer-songwriter spoke about how "abusive" po*******hy skewed her early s*xual experiences.

My topic is: Pursuing Pleasure? The Spiralling Pit of S*x and Po*******hy Addiction
On the surface of it, s*x should be the most natural, bonding, and fun connection. There’s a biological driver, as there is for food, so surely it can’t ever be an addiction. However, what happens when someone’s relationship with s*x crosses a destructive line such that it no longer serves a nourishing purpose?
S*x addiction presents in numerous ways such as compulsive ma********on; dangerous s*xual practices; compulsive use of the internet, chat rooms, and dating sites; exhibitionism; child molestation; voyeurism; excessive fantasy and chronic affairs. Excessive po*******hy is literally the crack co***ne of them all. Most tend to follow a recognisable cycle of acting out and are accompanied by deep secrecy and debilitating shame.
In this presentation I provide an insight into compulsive s*xual behaviours, and how they have evolved into destructive behaviours which impact relationships, work, finances, social connection and most significantly, mental health. In many instances, escalation is such that someone may ultimately cross a legal line with devastating consequences.
I suggest ways therapy can empathically & non-judgementally support someone towards recovery from an acutely dismal and lonely craving.
This talk is suitable for both mental health professionals, and equally for anyone who is interested and wonders if they or someone they know have an unhealthy s*xual outlook.
