🍎🍏The harvest has been so bountiful this year that I’m beginning to feel “gather guilt”! My freezer is now full of apple puree, I can’t keep pace with my grapevine , I’ve frozen stacks of hedgerow berries and I’m giving bags of produce away. It made me wonder if there was a word for this in the English language and there isn’t! So the best I can come up with is “gather guilt” - collecting so much with the harvest and feeling under pressure to use it so that it doesn’t go to waste.

Anyone else feeling it?

Suggestions for alternative words welcomed! (along with recipes using apples and grapes 😂). Xx

🍂✨ **Autumn Equinox Celebration** ✨🍂

Yesterday, we gathered at the Wise Woods Project, our magical woodland hub, to honour The Autumn Equinox and the turning of another season. As we explored themes of balance, harvest, letting go, and welcoming the sacred, we were blessed with the crisp autumn weather with sunlight dappling through the trees.

We started with Sue’s delicious apple cake and hot drinks, then ventured up into the woods to open our hearts with rose and reishi tea. After a grounding meditation, we connected with the trees until the gentle sound of the prayer bowl called everyone back to share around the warm fire with cacao.

Our day included quiet space for journaling, a powerful release ritual, discussions on honouring the sacred and a simple seasonal song to uplift our spirits—no singing ability required! 🎶

As always, the lunchtime feast was a highlight as served a delicious and nourishing lunch that warmed our bellies and souls.

Afterward, we crafted altar cloths inspired by nature, followed by a mini masterclass on immunity to help prepare ourselves to stay healthy and resilient during the darker months to come.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this day of deep connection! For those who couldn’t make it, we hope to welcome you at Samhain on November 2nd (link in bio).

May you be blessed with balance, abundance, and the courage to let go of what no longer serves. 💚🍂

🌳✨ Excitement is in the air today as our Tree Ogham card game has arrived! 🎉

This beautifully crafted game, a collaborative effort between , OBOD () and Yannick Dubois (.art), is designed to inspire children (and their parents!) to deepen their connection to the natural world.

In a time when our society—and especially our education system—often distances kids from nature, this game feels particularly vital. My daughter, currently in Year 3, hasn’t had Forest School since Year 1, and it won’t return until Year 5/6, despite having a Forest School right on site...

If you love the artwork as much as us, do have a look at Yannick Dubois’ creative offering .art. We use his altar cloth for our woodland events and I'm always referring to his posters for insight and inspiration! 🌿🎨

After school today, we’re heading into our garden to explore the lore and magic of Birch—the first letter of the Ogham alphabet and one of the first trees to sprout its leaves in spring. 🌱🌞 Birch beautifully symbolises new beginnings and rebirth, perfectly aligning with the spirit of Imbolc as we welcome the returning sun. Our birch tree is glowing in the winter sun today, invite us closer in as she knows we're coming to say hello 💚 xx

Seasonal Wisdom: Embracing Wintering ❄️

As I take a pause from running Wisdom Space events to focus on writing and nurturing my creativity, I’m reminded of the beauty and necessity of this season. Winter invites us to slow down, reflect, and renew our spirits.

Katherine May beautifully captures this in her book, Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times. Wintering is a time of rest, reflection, and renewal - something we all need to embrace in a world obsessed with productivity and a perpetual summer.

In this quiet time, let’s honour our need for rest and the potential for creativity that it brings. How are you embracing this winter season? 🌬️✨
