If you have suffered a

muscle and/or ligament injury, you are probably experiencing one or both of the following :

- Limited movement within the affected muscle group
- Pain and discomfort

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PREVENT OR TREAT INJURIES

For the fastest and best remedy for these types of injuries, you will need a sports massage from me. If you are preventing an injury, a sports massage from me will :

- Alleviate tension build up in soft tissue
- Promote flexibility, performance, and range of movement
- Aid relaxation and promotes the well-being of your body, not just your muscles and ligaments

If you have an injury, a sports massage from me will :

- Aid faster healing of the strained muscles and ligaments
- Improve blood and lymphatic circulation, and relaxes the contracted muscles
- Stimulate the stretch reflex in muscles
- Break down scar tissue which was a result of an injury

HOW DOES A SPORTS MASSAGE WORK? There are a variety of massage techniques I use which are specifically aimed at aiding an affected area of the body. Some of these techniques involve :

- kneading
- stroking
- rhythmic tapping, pounding, or patting
- deep pressure and friction. So whether you want to prepare for an event, avoid a repetitive strain injury, or treat an existing injury, contact me today to arrange a consultation. I can either come to you at your home/office or you can have your treatment by me at the Maple Osteopathic Clinic in Bracknell. Thanks for visiting the page and do get in touch with me if you have any further questions. Tracy

πŸ₯Ά Does cold weather affect your muscles, tendons and joints? Yes!

Cold temperatures reduce blood flow to your limbs, making muscles stiffer, less flexible and more prone to pain or injury. Oxygen is also released more slowly to the muscles, causing them to contract more and feel tight.

Joint lubrication thickens in the cold, which can increase discomfort β€” especially in arthritic joints.

Stay warm, layer up, and look after your body’s hardworking network of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints.

To tackle persistent niggles or improve how you move, DM TC Sports Massage or call 07790 178891 today. πŸ₯Ά

Sciatica vs Piriformis Syndrome β€” What’s the Difference? πŸ€”

Sciatica is like that annoying roadblock on your sciatic nerve highway πŸ›£οΈβ€”pain shooting down your leg from your lower back.
Piriformis Syndrome? It’s when your tiny piriformis muscle (hidden deep in your bum πŸ‘) decides to play the villain and squeeze that nerve instead!

Both cause leg pain, but sciatica starts in your spine, piriformis starts in your butt. So basically, same nerve, different troublemakers!

Pro tip: If your butt feels like it’s holding a grudge, it might just be piriformis syndrome! πŸ˜…
