Tips for keeping your smile healthy this festive season, from our Dental Team:
🦷 Try and keep routine brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Remember to spit and not rinse your mouth after brushing to leave the goodness of the toothpaste on your teeth.
🦷 Enjoy the festivities such as chocolates – but maybe not for breakfast. Be mindful how many sugary foods and drinks you are eating
🦷 Only use your teeth for chewing, don’t go opening any bottles, tearing off labels or cello tape. This can potentially damage and break teeth leading to pain over the Christmas period.
🦷 Drink plenty of water. Use a straw or sugar free drinks. Festive drinks can contain high amounts of sugar leading to an increased risk of tooth decay.
🦷 Partying + Heels + Icy Weather = Higher risk of dental trauma, winter events often mean dress shoes and icy conditions, a combination that can easily lead to slips, falls, and broken or knocked-out teeth.
