Before and after photographs of a client who came to me recently wanting a mole remove. All lesions are checked prior to removal to ensure they are safe to treat.

Unfortunately skin lesions are no longer removed on the NHS. For some individuals this can be quite problematic and can a a huge impact on their emotional well-being and self confidence. I know what a difference it can make to how we feel about ourselves having a mole, skin tag or age spot removed. I see this time and time again with clients I have been fortunate to treat.

This client came to see me in January as he wanted some Seborrheic warts removed. He was very self conscious of them and came for a Consultation. They were examined by a doctor initially and he was reassured they were benign, meaning non cancerous. After a few treatments you can see they have completely gone.

What are seborrhoeic keratoses?

Seborrhoeic keratoses (SK) are also known as seborrhoeic warts and basal cell papillomas. They are benign growths caused by a build-up of skin cells. SK are very common, harmless, often brown/black, growths on the skin. In the UK more than half the men and more than a third of women have at least one SK. By the age of 40, 30% of the population are affected while by the age of 70 it increases to 75%. They are also found in younger people. The number of SK varies from person to person.

How are seborrhoeic keratoses diagnosed?

SK are much more common than skin cancers; however, a very dark seborrhoeic keratosis can look similar to a melanoma. It is therefore important that either a general practitioner or specialist checks any changing brown/black lesions to ensure they are a SK.

SK can become a worry if they are red, itchy, sore or bleeding. If there is any doubt, a skin biopsy can be done.

How can seborrhoeic keratoses be treated?

Treatments for SK are not funded by the NHS. SK do not need treatment as they are harmless and cause no symptoms; however, for those who wish to have them removed (usually in the private sector) options include freezing them with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy), laser, or scraping them off (curettage) under a local anaesthetic.

Swedish massage wasn’t always called Swedish massage. First, it was called Swedish gymnastics, which was developed by Henrik Ling—a Swede from Stockholm.
Ling is considered the Father of Swedish massage because he created a system of physical rehabilitation by combining his knowledge of gymnastics and physiology from Chinese, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman cultures.
wedish massage helps reduce cortisol levels which is the stress hormone. It does this by the relaxing effect the massaging strokes have on the body. The calming environment also contributes to this. Swedish massage also increases dopamine and serotonin levels which improve ones mood.
Why not take a little time out for yourself. Mindfulness has never been so important to us than it is now to enable us to participate in little slices of calm to help us manage our lives in a more positive way.

This client came to me wanting some moles removed because he felt self conscious about them. All moles were checked prior to treatment to ensure it was safe to remove them. This is a photo of a mole that was removed from his back. This was removed using cryotherapy, no scar, no surgical incision, minimal risk of infection. In time the area treated will become paler. A very happy client. FILLMED was founded in 1978 by Dr Michel Tordjman, a French aesthetic medicine doctor with a fascination for cellular research to correct, slow and prevent the effects of skin ageing.

NCTF® is chosen and used by aesthetic medicine practitioners worldwide. In 2018, NCTF® received an award for being one of the best products in aesthetics for the last 20 years.

NCTF® is suitable for any age(18) and any skin type to correct visible signs of ageing. It provides high levels of revitalization and hydration for skin that is tired, dull or lacking tone and also for mature skin that is beginning to show the signs of ageing (fine lines, wrinkles, sagging and thinning..). It is particularly suitable for women or men seeking a rested appearance, and healthy-looking skin.

It is designed to target the delicate eye area

Through the 2018 Arcane study carried out on more than 8,000 women, the main eye-ageing concerns for women are:-

#1 DARK CIRCLES (48%)
#2 CROW'S FEET (35%)
#3 PUFFINESS (26%)
#4 EYELID SAGGING (21%)

An injectable treatment like no other, using a unique specialised formula of Hyaluronic acid, along with 59 other ingredients we can address those issues we have with our “Ageing eyes” such as dark circles, crow’s feet, and crepey lines to name a few.

What is your main eye concern?

There’s nothing like going to put your socks and stockings on and feeling the dry skin around your heels or feet catch on your socks to remind you that summer is well and truly here – and your feet are back to being far too dry.

While for some, this means just a small discomfort and dissatisfaction with the appearance of their feet, for others, it’s a serious health problem – with serious risks. Here’s why dry skin and cracked heels affect us most in the summer and what you can start doing today to help your feet.

How can I prevent dry feet and cracked heels?

– Moisturising your feet at least daily, preferably twice per day, morning and night. Your cream will absorb best right after a hot shower, so make sure to keep your heel cream on your vanity so you remember

– Make sure your heel balm contains urea, as it is proven to help you get better results faster

– Wear socks at night to lock in the moisture from your cream that you apply before bed

– Wear good, supportive sandals throughout the summer as much as possible. Orthotics sandals and those with in-built heel and arch support are recommended

– Stay hydrated – to keep your skin supple and lock in moisture

– Treat the cause, not just the symptoms. Remember – if it’s the pressure on your heels that is the primary cause of your symptoms, then your callus and cracked heels are likely to keep coming back if this is not addressed. See your footcare specialist to ensure that you’re also treating the cause and not just the symptoms

Do not attempt to remove callus build-ups at home. We’ve seen countless people that have attempted this and caused further damage to their feet and heels – to the point that it becomes painful for them to walk or bear weight due to the wound that has been created. Leave it to us – we do this multiple times every day!

This lovely client is having one of our 🌟Glow facials which includes Dermaplaning.🌟

What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a non-invasive treatment that utilises a surgical scalpel to gently remove the skin surface. It removes the top layers of dead skin along with fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) leaving your skin with a smooth appearance and radiant glow.
What are the benefits?

Dermaplaning removes the top layers of dead skin cells, leaving the skin immediately smooth and vibrant.
This allows deeper product absorption and can help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation and mild ache scarring.
Dermaplaning is perfect pre-event as it instantly brightens the skin and gives a silky smooth complexion. Allowing your make up to sit flawlessly without looking cakey or flaky.

NO DOWNTIME!

Will my hair grow back darker or thicker?

This is our most frequently asked question.. the answer is NO. Your hair after dermaplaning will grow back exactly the same colour and thickness as it was previously. We do not manipulate or change the structure of the hair follicle.
