When struggling with Anxiety we can often have a lack of serotonin in our body. Serotonin is a stress hormone, the more we encourage our bodies to produce serotonin the better we will be able to cope with stress and anxiety.
Some simple ways to do this could be to exercise daily or stay active, stay hydrated, eat a brain-healthy diet (eat less simple carbohydrates and eat more protein) and get some sunlight.

It can be hard to find time for yourself when things feel stressful but giving yourself what you need at this time can help you succeed and overcome those difficulties.

If you need a bit of support in doing this, within our service we offer worry management, which is a recommended CBT treatment for anxiety. You can get in touch to access our service by calling 01274 221234 or visit our website http://www.bdctalkingtherapies.nhs.uk

Hi my name is Danielle, I’m the Perinatal Lead in the service which means I oversee all things pregnancy and parents of babies under 1! I have worked for the service for nearly 10 years and have done a variety of roles during that time.
I’m a mum of two energetic children and most of my free time is spent trying to create order from the chaos! When I get time to myself, I have lots of geeky hobbies such as table top board gaming, Lego building and reading graphic novels. I love arts and crafts and my favourite place to visit is the Pottery Café in my local town.

Intersex Day of Solidarity, also known as Intersex Day of Remembrance, takes place annually on November 8. The day marks the birthday of Herculine Barbin, a French intersex person whose memoirs were later published by the philosopher Michel Foucault. He was a French intersex person who lived from 1838 to 1868. Originally assigned female at birth was later reclassified as male, after a physical examination. Tragically, he took his own life at the age of 29 and has since become an iconic figure in intersex history.
Intersex Solidarity Day is used to bring awareness to the issues faced by Intersex people and remember those Intersex people who we have lost along the way. Intersex Day of Remembrance is a time for celebration but can also include a more sombre reflective perspective considering difficult topics such as ge***al mutilation, the drawbacks of a rigid binary gender system, and sexism within that system.
The day highlights issues such as human rights violations, forced medical interventions, and the denial of legal recognition. It is a day to call for greater acceptance of intersex people in society.
