October births🎃

In October we saw 51 babies born on our birth centre!
Also 50% of those who laboured with us used a pool in their labour, this is the highest amount we have seen since last year!

💜 This week is baby loss awareness week, and at Bradford Women's and Newborn unit we will be lighting our building up in pink and blue 💜
Baby Loss Awareness Week takes place from 9th to 15th October every year and is an opportunity for parents, their families and friends to acknowledge and remember their precious babies who have died. It is led by Sands in collaboration with over 60 charities in the UK, aiming to break the silence around pregnancy and baby loss and to ensure all bereaved parents in the UK get the best possible care, wherever they live, whenever they need it.

September births🍂

Last month we saw 52 babies born on our birth centre!

August births☀️

Last month we welcomed 37 babies into the world on our birth centre with more girls than boys again this month! We had 12 girls born in a row before we saw our first boy born🩷💙
Congratulations to all families who welcomed their new addition!
And an extra special congratulations to our birth centre colleague Emily who welcomed her baby girl last month🩷

Yet another congratulations is in order to our third year student midwife Joan who reached her landmark 40th birth facilitated earlier this month!
Joan actually facilitated both her very first birth and now her 40th on our birth centre, such a full circle moment! Big congratulations again🤍

We welcomed 43 babies into the world on our birth centre last month with the girls outnumbering the boys🩷💙

Our lovely cohort of third year student midwives are almost finished with their training!
Here is Mariama and Charlotte who both facilitated their 40th birth (a national requirement to finish their training) on the birth centre this week!
