Julie Conroy Clinical Reflexology

Julie Conroy Clinical Reflexology Thank you for visiting my page. I offer a flexible service with daytime and evening appointments available. So, what is Reflexology?

Improve your health and well being with reflexology, a relaxing complementary therapy which can help reduce stress and tension, improve your sleep, enhance your mood and overall sense of wellbeing. I am a Clinical Reflexologist with over 7 yesrs experience, having graduated in July 2014 with a Centralia Reflexology Mastership, a Level 5 course which included foot and hand reflexology, and specialist modules in Palliative Care, Infertility and Maternity Care. Treatments are carried out in my treatment room in my home in Birkenshaw. It is an ancient therapy which has been practised for 5000 years, based on the theory that areas on the feet correspond to areas of the body. Massaging and applying pressure to these areas helps to unblock energy pathways throughout the body, cleansing and balancing the body and encouraging natural healing. It induces deep relaxation, which can help you to release tension and reduce stress levels - you may also find it helps improve your mood and helps you to sleep better. Other problems or conditions may improve too but this happens on a very individual basis. Reflexology is an holistic therapy and aims to treat the whole person, rather than specific conditions, therefore reactions vary from person to person. The only real way to know if Reflexology will help you is to try it! Please contact if you would like further information or to book an appointment

As the weather shifts and the air gets cooler, our immune system works harder to protect us from seasonal colds, flus, and fatigue. One gentle way to support the body during this transition is through targeted reflexology.

For immune support during autumn, key reflex areas often focused on by reflexologists include:

💨 Lungs & Bronchial Reflexes – supporting respiratory health as seasonal viruses increase.

🧠 Solar Plexus & Diaphragm Reflexes – calming the nervous system, which plays a crucial role in immune regulation.

💧 Lymphatic System Reflexes – encouraging lymph flow to help clear waste and support immune response.

🦠 Spleen & Thymus Reflexes – both of which are integral to immune cell production and defense.

🧂 Adrenal Reflexes – supporting the stress response. Lower stress can mean stronger immunity.

✨ Why this matters:

Chronic stress can suppress immune function. Reflexology has been shown in some studies to reduce perceived stress and promote relaxation.

Gentle stimulation of reflex points may support circulation and lymphatic drainage, which are essential for immune system function.

Reflexology sessions are often experienced as deeply calming, and rest is one of the best immune boosters we have.

🦶 Practical tip: Even a short, self-applied routine focusing on the solar plexus point (found in the center of the foot beneath the ball) can help activate the parasympathetic nervous system and create a moment of calm in your day.

Want to strengthen your seasonal wellness routine? A reflexology session can support your body’s natural defenses and help you feel more balanced this autumn. 🍂✨

Menopause can bring a wave of physical and emotional challenges—hot flushes, sleep disturbances, mood swings, joint pain, and more. But what if something as simple as foot reflexology could help?

💡 In a recent study of 90 postmenopausal women, researchers found that 12 reflexology sessions over 6 weeks (just 15 minutes per foot, twice a week) led to a significant improvement in quality of life.

Here’s what they discovered:
✔️ Reduced physical and emotional symptoms
✔️ Improved sleep, mood, and energy levels
✔️ Lasting benefits even two months after the sessions ended
✔️ All achieved without medication or side effects

Meanwhile, the control group who received no reflexology showed no meaningful change in their wellbeing.

✨ Whether you're a practitioner or simply someone navigating midlife, reflexology offers a grounding, supportive, and restorative tool.

🦶 Because sometimes the most powerful transformations start at your feet.
