The New Deanery Care Home is part of the multi award-winning Gold Care Homes group. We are proud to have been rated good by PAMMS.

Our exceptional care home offers 24 hour support to older adults with residential and dementia care needs. If you are looking for a residential care home in Braintree, The New Deanery combines high quality care with luxury accommodation at our beautiful and historic home, set in ten acres of glorious grounds. The New Deanery, owned by Sonnet Care Homes, can be a home for life for our residents, who we care for through ups and downs. If our residents require more specialist care our sister home, St Mary’s Court, is right next door. Our residents have the support of a much higher than average number of staff 24 hours a day, all of whom are carefully selected and trained to provide as much or as little care and support as individual residents require. Every member of our team is committed to keeping kindness, comfort and respect at the heart of everything they do to ensure our residents can live their life the way they choose.

From Valentine’s celebrations and pancake making for Shrove Tuesday, to learning about Chinese New Year and enjoying visits from some very special furry friends, it’s been another month full of smiles, creativity and time spent together.

Across our 46 homes, these everyday moments are what make each community so special. They’re made possible by the kindness, energy and dedication of our incredible teams, who work so hard to create meaningful experiences for residents 💜👏

Today at The New Deanery Care Home we were proud to welcome the incredible team from Training2Care to deliver their powerful and inspiring dementia awareness training to our staff 💟

Training 2 Care UK Ltd are known worldwide for their scientifically and medically proven approach, designed to give those with a healthy brain a realistic insight into what living with dementia may feel like. Through immersive, hands on experiences, our team were able to step into the world of someone living with dementia, gaining a deeper understanding of the sensory, emotional, and environmental challenges they may face each day

This innovative method goes beyond theory. It encourages reflection, empathy, and practical change, helping care professionals understand the small but meaningful adjustments that can be made to daily practice and surroundings to truly enhance the lives of people living with dementia

We are so grateful to the Training 2 Care UK Ltd team for sharing their knowledge and passion with us. Investing in this kind of learning ensures we continue to provide compassionate, person centred care that makes a real difference to our residents and their families 🥰

In a world that can always use more compassion, Random Acts of Kindness Day is a meaningful reminder of how small actions can make a big difference. In 2026, Random Acts of Kindness Day is celebrated on February 17, inviting people everywhere to spread kindness through simple, unexpected gestures.

Our dedicated team The New Deanery Care Home and St Mary's Court Care Home set out with bags full of goodies, for a few carefully selected people in our local area thanks to Rev. Rod Reid St. Mary's Church, Bocking ❤️

The smiles were so heartwarming it reminded us how lucky we are to be part of such a special and friendly community 🥰🥰

🌟 What a fantastic outing! Our lovely residents from The New Deanery Care Home enjoyed a delightful lunch The Bell Inn our favourite local pub 🍽️✨ Laughter echoed through the air as everyone shared stories, reminisced, and savoured delicious meals together.

It was truly heart-warming to witness the joy on everyone's faces as they connected over delicious food and cherished memories. The warm atmosphere and friendly staff made every moment even more special, creating an experience filled with love and connection. ❤️

A huge thank you to The Bell Inn for hosting us and making our outing so memorable! We appreciate the wonderful service and hospitality that made this day truly unforgettable. 🥰 We can't wait for our next adventure together, stay tuned for more exciting outings ahead!

Our Customer Relations Manager, Gerald, recently attended a networking event at Braintree Town Hall, organised by Holmes & Hills Solicitors.

It was a great opportunity to step away from the day-to-day and spend time connecting with other local professionals who all share the same goal: to support families across our local community.

Thank you to Holmes & Hills for hosting, and it was lovely to connect with Home Instead Braintree, Sudbury & Colne Valley, Lambert Chapman LLP and others on the day.

Who doesn’t love bowling? We set our for an afternoon adventure with our lovely residents accompanied by our staff for a fun filled day at NAMCO Funscape Braintree !🎳

Our residents were getting their competitive side ready and prepared as they showed fantastic skill, enthusiasm and determination on the lane. We had a fantastic afternoon of bowling filled with friendly competition, laughter and team spirit, and plenty of strikes. Residents embraced the challenge, showed great sportsmanship, and enjoyed every moment of the experience, creating special memories together! 🎳🥇

We do active activities like this to build confidence, social interaction and encourage friendly competition in a fun and supportive environment. This trip gave residents the opportunity to stay active, strengthen friendship and showcase their enthusiasm while enjoying a well- deserved afternoon out! 💟

Huge thank you to the friendly and welcoming staff at Namco Funscape, who always go above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and included 😄

We would like to say a huge thank you to Healthwatch Essex for our amazing new slippers 🥿 ❤️
Our lovely residents took part in a free slipper event at The New Deanery care home where they got to unbox and even try on the slippers as a fun and enjoyable event!

Something as simple as well-fitting slippers can help reduce the risk of falls, keep feet warm, and give residents greater confidence when moving around their home. Most importantly, it brings a little extra comfort to everyday life.
The purpose of this event was to provide safe and comfortable new slippers for our residents. Residents were also given a chance to speak to the wonderful information and guidance service as well as the carers voices team! 💟

Seeing the smiles and hearing how much they’re appreciated reminds us that wellbeing is often found in the small details. Thank you for inviting us to be part of this wonderful project, our residents are over the moon 😍

🎶✨ A Magical Burns Night Celebration at Our Care Home! ✨🎶

We came together to honour the spirit of Robert Burns with a day full of joy, camaraderie, and beautiful music! Residents enjoyed traditional Scottish delicacies and shared heartfelt poems.

A special highlight was the performance by our talented bagpiper, , serenading us with classic tunes. 📯💚
