Merry Christmas and Warm Wishes for 2026 🎄🎅🏻

As the festive season approaches, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued trust and support throughout the past year. It has been a real pleasure caring for your foot health and wellbeing, and I am truly grateful to each of you for being part of our clinic community.

Christmas is a time to pause, reflect, and reconnect — and I hope this season brings you moments of rest, comfort, and joy with those who matter most to you.

Looking ahead to 2026, I remain committed to providing high-quality, evidence-informed podiatry care alongside a holistic approach through reflexology. Supporting your mobility, comfort, and overall wellbeing continues to be at the heart of everything we do, and I’m excited for the year ahead.

On behalf of Bailey Podiatry & Reflexology, I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year. I look forward to welcoming you back to the clinic in 2026.

Warmest wishes,
Michelle x

This week’s and we’re absolutely mad about zebras 🦓

A fantastic pair of funky bamboo socks spotted in clinic — breathable, skin-friendly, and full of personality. We always love seeing patients bring a bit of fun to their foot care; healthy feet don’t have to be boring.

Keep expressing yourself, right down to your toes 🦶

When the toenails fight back… and win 😅🦶

Even the best kit can meet its match with severely thickened nails – today’s evidence being a drill burr in two pieces!

Huge thanks to for their excellent support and for getting a replacement sorted so quickly. Reliable equipment and responsive suppliers make all the difference in delivering safe, effective podiatry care.

Corns: the problem you shouldn’t ignore 👂🙉

Corns are caused by pressure and friction – not a lack of plasters.

Corn plasters often contain acids that burn healthy skin, increase pain, and can worsen the problem, particularly if circulation or skin integrity is compromised. This is why podiatrists do not recommend them.

If a corn keeps coming back, it’s a sign something else needs addressing:
✔ pressure points
✔ footwear issues
✔ foot mechanics

A proper assessment allows safe removal and treatment of the cause – not just the symptom.

And yes… this is the look I give when I hear “but the corn plaster usually sorts it” 😄

Bonus points if you can guess which Christmas song my little assistant is doing the actions to… 🎶

Warm wax therapy is in full swing today — a perfect winter treat for hands and feet.

The gentle heat softens the skin, eases stiffness, and supports circulation, making it an ideal addition to seasonal foot and hand care. A small moment of warmth can make a big difference during the colder months.

Our skin is like a natural warning system, it quietly shows signs when something inside our body isn’t right. By paying attention to skin color changes, we can spot early clues about our health.

Cyanosis is when the skin or lips turn bluish. This usually means the body isn’t getting enough oxygen.

It can happen during severe breathing problems or heart issues, and it should never be ignored.

Pallor, or unusual paleness, may point to anemia or poor blood circulation. If someone suddenly looks very pale, it could be a sign that their body isn’t getting enough blood flow.

Jaundice appears as a yellow tint on the skin and eyes. This often happens when the liver isn’t working properly or when bilirubin levels rise due to an underlying problem.

Ecchymosis looks like dark patches or bruises caused by bleeding under the skin. When bruising appears without injury, it may signal a bleeding disorder.

Erythema, the redness of skin, is usually linked to inflammation, infection, or increased blood flow.

Our skin doesn’t just protect us it communicates. Paying attention can help us catch health issues early.

Fresh comfort is on its way 👣

Some new stock will be coming into clinic soon. To highlight one of the brands we will be stocking… (Christmas pun intended!)

We’re bringing a new range of high-quality socks from SockShop into clinic soon — thoughtfully chosen to support healthier, happier feet.

From gentle cuffs for sensitive skin to moisture-managing fibres that keep feet dry and comfortable, the right socks make a genuine difference to foot health.

Watch this space… your feet will thank you.

❄️ Our clinic has a new festive visitor! One of our lovely patients has kindly knitted this charming snowman for us… but he arrived without a name.

We’d love your help to give him his official title for the season.

Drop your ideas below and let’s see what suits his personality best! ⛄✨

A little festive magic before the end-of-year rush ✨

We took a family trip to visit Santa this weekend, and it was such a lovely reminder of how important it is to pause and enjoy these moments.

Wishing everyone a season filled with warmth, wonder, and plenty of time for the people who matter most.
