There is just one place remaining for Monday evening's Yoga Nidra session with Helen.
If you've been meaning to give your mind the same attention you give your body, this is the moment. Known as 'yogic sleep', this guided meditation practice takes you into a state of deep rest - not switching off completely, but giving your nervous system the restoration it genuinely needs.
We're good at keeping going, pushing through, staying busy - but true well being means making space for recovery of the mind as well as the body. This is that space.

Foam Rolling Workshop – Friday 13th March, 11:30am

If you often feel tight through your glutes, hips, legs, back or shoulders, this relaxed small-group session will show you how to use your foam roller and move more comfortably.

Across the hour, we’ll go through simple, effective techniques for the areas that commonly feel restricted—whether you run, do strength or fitness classes, or just want your body to feel a bit better day to day. You’ll leave with ideas you can use at home and a clearer sense of what actually works for your body.

Please bring your own foam roller.
If you don’t have one, these are good examples:
• Medium-density (great if you’re new to it): https://amzn.eu/d/hA60fMj
• High-density (if you already foam roll): https://amzn.eu/d/5LjDqjm

What is foam rolling?
Foam rolling is a type of self-myofascial release that can help reduce muscle tension, improve blood flow and support better range of movement—especially when paired with the rest of your training or active warm-up.
Booking is open online via the website and link below - https://www.runfitfordingbridge.co.uk/service-page/foam-rolling-class?referral=service_list_widget

DOMS - The Reality
It’s January so you may have added in that extra class, be lifting heavier weights or started building your weekly running volume for that spring marathon. Then two days later (or even the next morning)—that familiar ache arrives.
I'm feeling it myself this week. I've upped my training for my May marathon and have a few aches and pains making their presence felt.
That distinctive soreness can feel concerning, especially when you're ramping up training. It makes you wonder if you've overdone it.
It's the DOMS. Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness and it’s your muscles adapting to increased demands. Your muscle fibres are working harder than they're used to, creating microtrauma. Your body repairs this damage, and that's exactly how muscles strengthen and grow. The soreness peaks around 48 hours, then subsides as you adapt.
So what can you do about it to make it better?
• Stay hydrated.
• Keep moving with lighter activity between harder sessions (Yoga and stretching is great).
• Prioritise sleep.
• Sports massage can support recovery by increasing circulation, helping flush metabolic waste, and reducing discomfort. It leaves you better positioned for your next training session.
The soreness is temporary. The adaptation is lasting. Your body is rebuilding itself stronger.
I'm writing more about DOMS on the blog this week. Meanwhile, if you need support managing recovery, book a sports massage through our online booking system. I know I'm going to........

You maintain your car. You service your bike. You update your phone. What about your body?

Sports massage isn't about treating yourself. It's about maintaining the body that carries you through training, through work, through life. It's preventative care that keeps you moving well and performing optimally.

Regular sports massage increases blood flow to working muscles, releases accumulated tension, reduces recovery time, and helps prevent those ni**les from developing into full injuries. Whether you're training for an event, managing a demanding schedule, or simply want your body to function at its best, massage is essential maintenance.

At Run Fit, we provide sports massage that complements your training. We understand active bodies and what they need to recover, adapt, and stay resilient. Deep tissue work that targets the areas under stress. Techniques that support your performance rather than just feeling nice.

Your body deserves this level of support. Book your sports massage through our online booking system and give your body what it needs to keep going.

That persistent twinge in your knee. The tight calf that won't quite loosen up. The shoulder that jars when you reach overhead.

You know it's there. You've been working around it. Telling yourself it'll sort itself out.

Your body is speaking to you. Those ni**les are messages, not inconveniences to push through. Left unaddressed, that whisper becomes a shout. That manageable discomfort becomes a full injury that sidelines you completely.
Here's what happens when you listen: you stay active, you keep training, you continue doing what you love. You maintain momentum rather than starting from scratch after forced time off.

At Run Fit, we understand sports injuries and how active bodies move, where strain accumulates, and how to address problems before they escalate. Whether you're a runner or simply someone who moves through life actively, catching issues early means staying consistent with your training. It meas being able to keep doing the things you love.

Don't wait until that ni**le forces you to stop. Book an appointment through our online booking system and keep your body in the game.

Booking is now open for a Sound bath relaxation session at the studio.
A sound bath is a meditative experience where you lie comfortably on a mat and allow the therapeutic vibrations from Tibetan singing bowls to wash over you. The resonant tones create a deeply calming effect that helps your body release tension and your mind to quieten.
This is pure relaxation time for you - a chance to switch off, restore your energy and bring yourself back into balance. No effort required, just settle in and let the sounds do the work.
This session is suitable for everyone with no previous experience needed. Booking is via the link below. https://www.runfitfordingbridge.co.uk/service-page/sound-bath-gong-meditation-session?referral=service_list_widget
