Today is World Mental Health Day.
At a time when it feels like there is a lot going on in the world - never mind what is going on in our own personal lives - things can feel quite uncertain. Uncertainty can have such a destabilising effect that we can feel like the rug has been pulled out from under us. When we are struggling with our mental health, quite often our healthy habits are the first to slip away. You may have stopped being active, eating well, or pulled back from the people who care about you. You can feel lonely and isolated.
When life feels overwhelming, reaching out can feel like the hardest thing to do. But talking is good for your mental health. Whether it's a friend, a training partner, someone in your community, or a helpline, there are people who want to listen.
At Run Fit Fordingbridge, movement and community are at the heart of what we do because we know how much they support mental wellbeing.
If you're struggling, please talk to someone.
If someone around you seems to be struggling, reach out and ask how they are. Really ask. Really listen.
We can't control everything that happens in the world or in our lives. But we can show up for each other.
