Just finished restoring this Kawasaki Z650 engine after a complete strip down and rebuild.
I'm offering it for sale before I list it on ebay. I will guarantee it against faults for 30 days.

What's been done?...

New engine oil seals
New valve stem seals
Piston rings replaced
Starter clutch sprocket replaced
Piston bores honed
Valves re-lapped
Compression tested
All camshaft and crankshaft journals checked and measured for wear
Valves re-shimmed and timing set.
New oil and oil filter
The starter motor is not included unless agreed.

Before and After!

It's been 2 years in the making but the Z550 is pretty much finished, albeit getting it running smooth.
This project was done through West Wales Motorcycle group in Carmarthen, paintwork was done by Mr Wolf Hughes. Thank you to everyone who helped with it.

On April 19th I had a massive crash on my Ninja 1000. This helmet was brand new and I’m very pleased to say it saved my life. I ended up in a coma for 5 weeks and broke or fractured about 12 bones! I was also wearing my protective gear. It was such a violent accident that I don’t remember anything, even being airlifted to Cardiff hospital. I am now a hundred times better although I’m still having a few issues physically.
I just want to use this post to warn people of the risk of not wearing proper good quality bike gear. I also want to thank everyone who has wished me well, not forgetting my fantastic wife Meryl who got me to where I am today.

Hi everyone. Just so you know, I get asked to refurb a lot of vacuum carb sets for in-line fours such as the Z650 (VM24) Anyone who has ever had these will know they need to be set up perfectly for the bike to run well. Below is a list of everything that I do when I get a set.

Completely strip and degrease all parts.
Soda blast bodies and backplate.
Ultrasonic clean carb bodies.
Final clean in paraffin and spray carb cleaner through the internal pathways before high pressure air blast.
Examine all parts for damage and rust, clean and polish all plated parts.
Refurbish all choke plungers and replace viton sealing face (there is a company online that asks £60 to do this).
Replace O rings where required.
Replace all M4 and M5 JIS screws and all 'E' clips
New float bowl gaskets.
Buff bowls and caps.
Re-assemble and bench set.

Not included in price is any replating due to rust, or replacement of main actuating rod.
If you want the carbs synchronised with mercury gauges, that is included, but you will have to bring the bike to me to do it.

CG125 is pretty much finished. Not happy with some of the cheap parts, you definitely get what you pay for! I've kept the originals for the owner to get re-chromed at a later date. Only problem I'm having is that the bike is running extremely rich??

20 Ton professional hydraulic floor press, complete with V blocks etc. This is not a cheap Chinese import made of inferior steel. It's worth over £500.
