Was a fantastic day of leaning vital skills for both clinic and real-life! ⛑️ And another great opportunity to catch up and connect with my amazing Podiatrist friends from Eastwood Podiatry and Beaconsfield 👣

We recently undertook our medical emergencies refresher course - a requirement from both the HCPC and the Royal College of Podiatry. We were joined by our lovely Podiatrist friends from Beaconsfield and Brentwood.
We chose a local training provider (Lazarus Training First Aid Provider) and they were brilliant. Glen and James made the course fun, engaging and informative and we left feeling confident and well prepared to handle real life situations, both in clinic and in everyday life.

We highly recommend this company for a proper hands on first aid course!

🌟 Case Study: Effective Treatment of Warts through Falknor Needling 🌟

We recently had a successful case involving a gentleman in his 60s who sought treatment for two warts on his finger. Due to his autoimmune condition and immunosuppressive medication, we chose the targeted approach of Falknor needling—a technique with a success rate of around 70%.

What Are Warts?
Warts, or verrucas when on the soles of the feet, are benign growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The goal of treatment is to boost the body’s immune response to combat the virus.

The Treatment Process:
Step 1. Local Anesthesia: A digital block was performed for complete numbness.
Step 2. Needling: The warts were punctured multiple times to stimulate immune response.
Step 3 Post-Care: The area was dressed, and the patient was advised on aftercare.

Follow-Up Success:
At the follow-up appointment eight weeks later, we were thrilled to see near-complete regression of both warts! The patient was delighted, and any remaining traces should continue to fade.

This case highlights the effectiveness of Falknor needling, even in patients with compromised immune systems. Tailored treatment plans make all the difference! 💪✨
