With 22 years’ experience assessing and treating patients, we are on the right footing to provide you, the patient, the valuable expertise, give you hope that there is a solution to your niggling injury and provide you with the quality of life that you deserve, pain free. Kinetic Podiatry Clinic is a Specialist Sports and Premier Podiatry Clinic in Essex and the UK. A Sports Podiatrist Specialist treats and manages patients with problem pain and injuries that relate to biomechanical dysfunction of the feet and lower limbs during walking and running. Common problem injuries seen at Kinetic Podiatry Clinic are big toe joint pain, arch pain, heel pain, e.g. Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles tendon pain. Specifically, if your child continually trips over, in-toes and keeps spraining their ankle; if walking up and down stairs makes your knees hurt/ache, shin pain when walking fast or running, a continual lower back pain; ITB syndrome, groin strain, then this may be caused by your excessively pronated or flat feet. You, the patient, will undergo a thorough biomechanical video gait analysis, a foot and leg assessment and then will be provided with a temporary pair of insoles depending on the findings of the treating Podiatrist. This is to give you the confidence that they will help and reduce your problem aches and pains. On the review after 3 weeks, the patient will normally have experienced a significant improvement and then, only then can the patient then decide to have a pair of the premier bespoke custom orthoses made for them. We also treat in-growing toenails conservatively or surgical removal should you require, hard skin, corns, verrucae, athletes foot, provide neuro-vascular diabetic assessments and home visits if required. A patient complaining of a very painful ingrown toenail for 5 months. They decided it was time to have a permanent solution. This morning the patient had a successful partial nail avulsion under local anaesthesia. Note the far right side and try to imagine how painful this would have felt.

BUPA referred a female patient that caught her toe against an object that pretty much caused most of it to lift off the nail bed. Please refer to image. As you could imagine, it was causing significant pain, infections and pus discharge; it was even worse when wearing footwear.

The parent of the child , after hearing the various options, decided along with the patient to have the nail removed under local anaesthesia, but without the chemical phenol. This would have stopped the nail from growing back permanently. Instead with the nail removed and no chemical, a new healthy nail should regrow.

If you have suffered a trauma to a toe nail, e.g. someone has stepped on a nail or you have bashed it against a table, there is help.

Have a great day.

A new patient referred by BUPA, presented with an ingrowing toenail that was very painful. The gentleman had a history of re-occurring infections, pain, pus discharge and antibiotics. Previous treatments have not helped.

Following an initial consultation and discussing the various treatment options, he later decided to have the entire toenail removed under local anaesthesia but with no chemical. As this is used to stop the nail from growing back. The idea is that by not applying the Phenol chemical, a new healthy nail will regrow with no further problems.

From the image it is evident that the top half of the right hand side of the nail, was jagged and causing the problems.

The patient was really happy that this has now been resolved.

A new patient had been suffering with an ingrown toenail for sometime. This was due to ongoing picking and cutting the nail too deep.

During the initial consultation, conservative treatment was carried out, as nail surgery was not required. From the photograph below, it was evident what was causing the pain.

Today, a 15 year old patient had an ingrowing toenail removed surgically.

After many months of pain, infections, discomfort and not able to play sports. It was decided by the parents and patient, that it was time to have a more permanent solution. A bilateral partial nail avulsion was carried out under local anaesthesia with phenolisation. This is to stop the nail from regrowing and improving the patient's quality of life.

A fantastic review from a really happy Mother. I was able to help her and her son that had been suffering from the issues of excessive pronation (flat feet).

"Definitely recommend. Originally visited Neil for the oldest child after a physio highlighted that his gait was off. Neil is very knowledgeable, experiences and professional. He takes the time to properly assess and explain what’s going on and manages your expectations. He can make up insoles on site, which is perfect for growing feet. We have seen an instant and sustained improvement. Since having the insoles we are experiences less falls and muscle pulls. Neil also follows up after two weeks to ensure all is well.

The issue for us is hereditary flat feet. Since having insoles made for myself my lower back pain has virtualy disappeared. It’s impressive how the right insoles can make walking and running more comfortable. We are really pleased with the service we received at Kinetic Podiatry clinic Brentwood. Thank you Neil."

Do you suffer from big toe joint, ankle, shin, knee, hip or lower back pain; continually trip over or appear to walk in an uncomfortable or clumsy way? It will be due to low arches/ excessive pronation (flat feet).
