Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can. The festive season can bring joy, but it also carries expectations, excessive busyness, and pressure to be all things to all people. Remember to pause, breathe, and offer yourself the same kindness you extend to others. Rest and compassion are gifts too — ones you definitely deserve.

A feeling of being together, not alone— reminding us how connection can lift us in ways we sometimes forget. It’s often the smallest things—a shared laugh, a gentle conversation, or just sitting side by side—that bring the biggest smiles.

When we pause to notice these everyday treasures, we realise happiness isn’t always found in grand gestures, but in the quiet simplicity of being present with others.

When was the last time you truly let yourself play?

Children don’t ask for permission—they just dive in. For us adults, play often looks like creativity: painting, writing, crafting, moving, making. It’s more than fun—it’s how we decompress, reconnect, and remember who we are.

We are taught that attending to our own needs is selfish. Nothing could be further from the truth. By nurturing yourself, you expand your capacity to nurture others. At this time of year it's all too easy to get lost in the whirl of the to-do list and exhaust ourselves trying to be all things to all people.

Pause, take a deep slow breath. Ask yourself, what do I need right now? Can you truly listen to the answer and give yourself permission to top up your reserves?
