Online sessions can offer so much more than convenience — they create space for connection, reflection, and growth right where you are. Whether you’re at home, in your garden, or surrounded by the sounds of nature, our work together can still draw on the grounding and calming effects of the natural world.

I’ve trained in Interpersonal Neurobiology with Dr. Dan Siegel, and I love weaving that understanding of mind–body connection into our sessions. Online therapy can be a deeply relational and restorative experience — one that supports both your nervous system and your sense of self.

✨ You can bring your cup of tea, your favourite view, and your whole self — exactly as you are.

I’m often asked what nature-based therapy is really like — so I thought I’d share some of the most common questions I hear.

Nature can be such a powerful companion in therapy — offering space, calm, and perspective in ways that often surprise people.

Every session is unique, just like every season. 🌳

💬 If you’ve been curious about what it’s like to work outdoors or in connection with nature, I’m always happy to chat and answer any questions privately.

Nature-based counselling brings therapy out of the room and into the living world. 🌱
It offers space to explore emotions, grief, and growth surrounded by the quiet wisdom of the natural environment.
It’s about remembering — we are part of nature, not separate from it.

As a counsellor, I was deeply moved by Signs — a book that bridges neuroscience, intuition, and the quiet ways we find meaning after loss. And signs can help us when we have lost our way.

Dr Swart beautifully explores how the signs, symbols, and synchronicities we notice — a song, a bird, a feeling — can be our brain’s way of helping us stay connected and make sense of change. It’s a comforting, grounded look at how science meets spirituality.

For anyone grieving, or for fellow therapists supporting clients through loss, Signs offers a hopeful reminder: healing doesn’t mean letting go completely, but finding new ways to stay connected — and sometimes, those “signs” are part of that process. 🌿

Ever noticed how tree branches, leaves, and river paths have repeating patterns?
These are called fractals, and your brain loves them.
Studies show that looking at fractal patterns can reduce stress by up to 60%, gently guiding the brain into a meditative state.
Nature’s designs soothe the mind — effortlessly.

When we spend time in nature, our nervous system begins to regulate itself.
Research shows that natural settings lower cortisol, slow the heart rate, and activate the parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) system.
It’s not just relaxing — it’s rewiring how we respond to stress.
🌿
In nature-based counselling, we use these moments to help the body feel safe enough to heal.

Nature based counselling offers a variety of benefits. Not only is this a therapeutic space to explore what would like to work on in your therapy, the natural world offers another layer to the experience that is often associated with feelings of rest, resetting, a place of recovery and a returning to a part of ourselves that may have been lost.
