🌱 Lymph Class 1: Meet Your Lymphatic System
Hello Lymphies 💚 and welcome to our very first class in the Lymph Series! Over the next 12 sessions we’ll explore the incredible, life-giving system inside your body that most people hardly know about — your lymphatic system.
🌀 What is the Lymphatic System?
Think of your lymphatic system as your body’s silent river of renewal. It flows underneath the surface, keeping you balanced, cleansed, and protected — even while you sleep.
It’s made up of:
• 💧 Lymph fluid – a clear fluid carrying waste, toxins, proteins, fats, and immune cells.
• 🌿 Lymph vessels – the “roads and highways” that transport lymph throughout the body.
• 🛡️ Lymph nodes – small filter stations that trap toxins, bacteria, and abnormal cells.
• 🩸 Organs like the spleen, tonsils, and thymus – powerful allies in immunity.
🌟 Main Jobs of the Lymphatic System
1. Detoxification ♻️
• Collects waste and toxins from tissues.
• Moves them out through the liver, kidneys, and skin.
2. Fluid Balance 💧
• Prevents swelling (edema).
• Returns extra fluid from tissues back into the bloodstream.
3. Immunity 🛡️
• Transports and activates white blood cells.
• Lymph nodes act as security checkpoints — fighting bacteria, viruses, and even abnormal cells.
