Hi, self employed Disability PA, over 17 years experience working with age 4 to elderly. I have a background across many types of services with all age groups.

At the moment I am one person offering a 1 to 1 service designed to meet an individual needs at home and within the community. having worked for social services and education I have a good knowledge base and work towards the standards of social services to promote independence and support goal setting and personal targets. I have received 1st aid training and epilepsy and had experience with rescue medication and prescription. I was also part of the infection control team working alongside the NHS to insure the working environment and staff worked to a high standard. I am personally inured with Surewise as a care worker. I drive my own Toyota Hiace Van, she is old and not the prettiest to look at but reliable and safe, I am always maintaining the van and it allows me to transport equipment and groups of people. Personally I am an active person that enjoys being out and about, I have an Art background and enjoy being creative. over the years I have worked in construction, Food, garden and tree services. I have worked with many conditions and diagnosis and have found this never defines the individual, every person is different and every person has different wants and experiences. I work to try and achieve what the service user wants. I have taken people swimming, surfing, skiing to the gym, spar, pubs and clubs, I don't think anything is off the table and can work with the service user to assess how they can try an activity safely but do rely on capacity and agreement of the service users and those supporting if activates involve risk. I am a big supporter of DP support and feel it has not been developed or used to its full potential, this is a service designed to meet individual need, Day services are fantastic but with any group compromises are made to meet the needs of all, Home support services are amazing but this role is pressurised and often short time slots mean that basic care needs are met but beyond that staff are restricted. DP allows for a person centred support package or targeted support, giving time to both staff and service user. I am currently still working within education so have limited hr available but I am hoping to grow this service so that I have the opportunity to dedicate more time to it,
