We are so proud of another huge collaborative effort for a deserving family. We were recently contacted by one of the wonderful cancer support workers from Young Lives vs cancer regarding a young single mother diagnosed with cancer. She had moved into a new property and the carpets there were badly stained, many rooms did not have carpets at all. This was obviously a health concern for a young person going through cancer treatment who is also caring for a new baby. Due to being on treatment she couldn’t afford to pay for new carpets, and we were asked if we could help.

We reached out to our contacts and the brilliant Andrew Griffiths and Greg Jones along with TJ Services Wales Ltd and Mercado West Wales stepped up.

They sourced the carpets as a donation, went one step beyond and carpeted the whole house entirely for free, not charging for their labour. They even arranged for the doors to be planed! They really went above and beyond.

Helping this family cost the charity nothing, thanks to our kind and generous supporters helping us make a difference to deserving families in South Wales.

We are more than just a charity, we are an army working together, committed to making differences in the lives of families of children and young people with cancer.

We are so grateful for you. Thank you!

Some amazing feedback from one of our customers received today, thank you 😁

I have had the pleasure today of being shown around our 'old schoolhouse'. The building was previously taken back by Cardiff Council and subsequently transferred to Social Services. Modern, brightly decorated and with definite kerb appeal, the house has been beautifully renovated.

For the past 9+ years, the house has been falling into disrepair, empty, neglected and at times ransacked, with gardens overgrown and strewn with rubbish. Adjoining the school, it has been a source of worry, caused ongoing health and safety issues and looked dreadful!
Although the work has been substantial, the disruption to school life has been minimal. Overseen by Gavin, the school site has been kept safe and secure at all times. Gavin has made it clear to all contractors and workers that gates, fencing and machinery had to used safely and with consideration that over 300 young children would be on the school grounds while work took place. He has kept us well informed of times when heavy machinery such as cranes and
diggers would be needed and worked with us to find mutually agreeable dates and times. No mean feat while managing teams of delivery drivers, external suppliers and TJ Services Staff I'm sure!

All TJ Services staff have parked carefully around the school, respecting the crossing points and school drop off and collection times. Gavin and the team have been a pleasure to work alongside, polite, and friendly, I would like to pass on our thanks for their hard work and professionalism, partnership working and improvement to the school environment.
