A brilliant post and a reminder to us all that we can’t pour from an empty cup.

If you are feeling under the weather, overwhelmed, anxious or have pain, back, knees, shoulders, could Acupuncture help?

☎️ message or WhatsApp for details, but take a moment to look after ‘little you’ 😊

Have you been putting yourself and your needs on the back burner lately?

Today I want to share a practice I use when I realize I haven’t been treating myself well. It has to do with a photo of a little girl I keep on my desk…

That’s her (or should I say me) and I want to encourage you to track down a photo of little you and put her on your desk (or fridge or dresser), too.

Here’s why: as we get older it can become easy to brush off taking care of ourselves. We have so many things on our plates and our own needs often come last. It can easily spiral to the point of self-neglect.

That’s where that photo comes in. I look at that little girl and ask myself, “If you were in charge of taking care of this little cutie, would you brush off her needs like you brush off your own?”

The answer is a resounding No.

You’d love her and take care of her and give her what she needs to have the best life possible.

If little you had a big day tomorrow, you’d make sure she got a good night’s sleep first.

If little you was hungry or thirsty before you had to go somewhere, you wouldn’t just expect her to power through. You’d nourish her.

If little you had been cooped up all day, you’d get that girl outside for some sunshine and some fun—because she deserves it!

If something bad happened to little you, you’d give her space to share her feelings instead of bottling it up inside.

My challenge to you today is to start taking care of yourself with the same loving care you’d offer little you.

I promise you, that little girl can still set the world on fire if you give her the TLC she needs.

Love this gem by our friends at the
Your feet are perfectly designed
It’s how you use them that needs modification. Not your feet
👣
There is an underlying belief floating around that feet can’t support the body on their own. We tend to think they need extra support via orthotics, motion control shoes, or heavily cushioned shoes
But we’re here to let you know—human feet are not a design flaw!
While there may be times or situations when extra support is merited, for the most part, feet will only need the support temporarily until they heal or are strengthened properly
Here are just a few amazing barefoot technologies
1. Your foot is a stable tripod. Between two points at the ball of the foot and a point at the heel, your foot on the ground (or in a thin shoe that allows you to feel the ground) is very stable!
2. Fat pads are positioned under areas of weight-bearing for extra cushion and comfort
3. The foot contains 3 natural arches: one just behind the ball of your foot, one on the outside edge of your foot and one on the inside edge of your foot. These natural arches help to support your feet and keep it from collapsing (with help from your hips)
4. The foot is capable of complex movements. These movements help to dissipate forces from the ground when you are walking or running. Feet are designed to pronate and become soft upon landing and to supinate and become rigid when leaving the ground. Truly amazing!
If you read these and thought— but my feet don’t have that special technology—that’s okay! To perform optimally, your feet might need a little extra love
