🩺 FREE PSA Testing for Men

Did you know that 1 in 2 men will face a prostate health issue in their lifetime?
And 1 in 8 men will develop prostate cancer.
Men of African-Caribbean heritage or with a family history of prostate cancer are 2–3 times more at risk.

🔬 What is PSA?

PSA stands for Prostate Specific Antigen — a simple blood test that can help detect prostate problems early.

It’s not a direct test for cancer, but a raised PSA level may indicate the need for further checks.

👨‍⚕️ Who should get tested?
Men aged 40 and over are encouraged to have regular PSA tests.

Our lovely Cancer Support Workers at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust run a support group for all patients and their families affected by cancer. These relaxed sessions run for 2 hours on the last Thursday of each month in Taunton where you can drop in and have a chat with a Cancer Support Worker and other people affected by cancer and grab yourself some free tea, coffee and biscuits.

The next one is Thursday 30th October from 2-4pm at the World's End Pub in Taunton. Come and join us and chat to the village agent team to see how they can help you in the community.
