Patients living in Somerset aged over 30 with breast lump symptoms can self refer via NHS 111 online without having to see your GP first.

Patients in Somerset with symptoms of breast cancer can self-refer to our specialist breast diagnostic clinic, without needing to see a GP!

In the last nine months since its launch, over 600 people with worrying symptoms, such as a breast lump, have self-referred directly to our breast diagnostic clinic, speeding up cancer diagnosis and freeing up valuable GP appointments.

By seeing patients as quickly as possible, we are able to provide reassurance quickly during what can be an anxious and worrying time, or provide treatment to those who need it much sooner.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK - if you think you may be experiencing symptoms such as a lump, change of skin such as dimpling or redness, or a change in size or shape of your breast, you can self-refer via NHS 111 online or the NHS App. NHS England

Overwhelm is real; we all feel it.

This , we are looking at the impact of feeling overwhelmed. Feeling overwhelmed by current events in your life or across the world, no matter how big or small, can take a toll on our mental health.

We as Health and Wellbeing Coaches wish to share a few tips to help with this feeling:

Talk with others - when you feel overwhelmed, it can help to connect with other people. You could spend some quality time with loved ones, family or friends.

Give yourself permission to rest - taking time to look after yourself
doesn’t mean you've stopped caring about anything else; it means that you are looking after yourself so that you can keep on caring.

Focus on what you can control - small actions still matter. Taking positive action can help shift feelings out of helplessness and into
purposefulness.

It's ok to feel overwhelmed, just learn to spot the signs and don't keep it bottled up 💙
