Our next Memory Café has a Valentine's Day theme. If you or your loved one, or someone that you care for is living with dementia, please join us for the café. Its a chance to chat and laugh with people in a similar situation. There are games, songs and cake!

BRIDGWATER COMMUNITY DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE - The Story So Far……….

Last summer, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust was granted permission and funding to build a state of the art diagnostic centre, which will house CT and MRI scanners. It is estimated that this will give capacity for 25,000 scans per year. Late in 2025 the building work began. Now, in February the building is done and the inner fabrication is coming along very well. Next month will see the delivery of the scanning equipment.

What a difference a week makes!

Work is still ahead of plan for our wonderful diagnostic centre. Most of the interior is plastered and decorating has been started.

Thanks again to all staff who have been understanding about the situation with parking. This is such an important project for Bridgwater, we appreciate the frustrations in the short term when it is difficult to park. The building should be complete in the middle of April so only another few weeks to go. 🥳🤩

DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE WORK GOING WELL!🥳🥳🥳
Work at the CDC (Community Diagnostic Centre) is going well. Despite storm Chandra, the team are doing an awesome job and are still slightly ahead of schedule.

Thanks to all who have been patient with the reduced parking spaces at times during these building works, when the CDC is built, it will have its own parking spaces. The value the CDC will add to the community can not be underestimated.

We will keep you updated on the build as it develops at pace week by week. 🤩

SPECIAL CHRISTMAS MEMORY CAFÉ

The last memory café of the year at BWH, supporting people living with dementia and their loved ones, had a special Christmas theme.

We were delighted to welcome back the vocal talents of Chantelle, with some wonderful Christmas songs.

There were also some home made goods on sale, all proceeds of which are re-invested into the cafe and activities for patients.

As always thanks to everyone who helped to make this happen and thanks to the cafe team for all the amazing work this year. 🙏🎄❤️
