Here at White Rose Lodge, we are lucky to have the promenade on our doorstep, including a couple of lovely cafes. We went to the Beach Hut Cafe for a frothy cappuccino and a smooth latte...not forgetting a toasted teacake!

To celebrate Lifestyle Coordinator Manda's birthday today, we took a trip into the town for a delicious lunch at the Cookhouse restaurant. It made a nice change to browse a full menu and decide what to pick, with choices such as cottage pie, fish & chips or lasagne. The ladies who visited today had a great afternoon of chatting, sharing their stories and enjoying a different environment. We also had some fresh air on the walk home whilst admiring the sea view!

As part of our More...Community focus this week, Lifestyle Team Manda and Emma joined in a local group that are hoping to create a better environment in Bridlington!

The litter picking initiative is founded by Reece and the Bridlington Leisure Association. Each week they meet at Hook and Parrot for a quick cuppa before heading out to various places within the town. It feels great to make a difference and we will include litter picking as part of our activity schedule in the future!

Here at White Rose Lodge, we have an amazing team of colleagues who go above and beyond every day, however, each month we like to recognise a special "Employee of the Month" who has been nominated by other staff members, the people living with us and their family and friends.

For September, we would like to congratulate Tina, our Head Housekeeper for all her efforts within the home. She not only does housekeeping, but also maintenance, fire training and much more with a smile. Well done Tina and thank you!

This month, we went all out glitz and glamour with a Las Vegas themed day as part of Celebrating Cultures.

We began the morning with "Play Your Cards Right" and a die throwing game. Our lunch was a special BBQ style buffet with American favourites such as burgers, hot dogs, doughnuts and milkshakes!

The afternoon was filled with music and laughter as we welcomed Gran Canaria Rob to the home for some amazing entertainment and sing-along. It was a wonderful day and much enjoyed by everyone living with us!

One of the people living with us at White Rose Lodge had a fun shopping afternoon in Bridlington town and chose to have lunch at Boyes Cafe.

Boyes is a well-loved retailer that opened in 1881, and their cafe is a must to visit for the beautiful views of the town, the quaint museum that is full of historical memorabilia and the delicious steak pie! It was a real treat!

Here at White Rose Lodge, the lovely people living with us had a brilliant afternoon watching a local cricket match at Sewerby Pavillion whilst they played against Seamer & Irton CC.

It was a warm and sunny afternoon with lots More...Fresh Air, whilst we admired the wonderful sea views and Bridlington Bay. White Rose Lodge were special guests at this particular match, as we had sponsored the ball, and had a picture taken with the team!

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came and supported our Table Top Sale and Tombola last week.

The weather could have been better, but we still raised a fantastic £110 for the home and our activity fund, which goes towards special events for those living with us.

We will be hosting more sales and coffee mornings in the future, so keep a look out on our page!

Come and join us at White Rose Lodge on the 19th of August, between 11am and 2pm for our Yard Sale and Tombola!

Our stalls will be set in the garden, which is accessible from the front of the building and the cliff top.

There will be a tombola, jumble sale, diamond art stall and refreshments.

We're excited to announce our monthly Blue Light Breakfast at White Rose Lodge.

Blue Light workers in and around the community can enjoy a free breakfast and tea or coffee on the last Wednesday of each month, 8am-11am.
