Residents and their families enjoyed a lovely Christmas dinner at our local pub, Noble Comb. The afternoon was full of fun, with festive crackers, silly jokes, and of course, plenty of delicious food and drinks.😄🍽️

Residents, staff, families, and friends all came together for an evening full of singing, dancing, and laughter. We even had special visits from our friends the Elf and Gingerbread Man!😄🎶

Everyone enjoyed a delicious festive feast and were entertained by the wonderful singer Andy Wiseman. A truly joyful celebration to kick off the season.❤️🎤

🎄 What does Christmas dinner look like in a St Mary’s care home?

It looks a lot like this… ✨

At St Mary’s, Christmas Day is all about comfort, tradition and a little festive indulgence. Our residents enjoy a beautifully prepared Christmas feast, lovingly cooked by our talented care home chefs.

This sample menu comes from Shipley Manor, created by award-winning care chef Monica Correia, and it’s a perfect example of how we make Christmas extra special:

🍎 A warming Parsnip & Apple Soup to start
🦃 Chef’s Signature Roast Turkey with all the festive trimmings (or a delicious vegetarian nut roast)
🍮 Finished with a traditional Christmas pudding, served with brandy sauce or cream

For our care chefs, this is more than just a meal. They want it to be a moment for residents and their families to share, savour and celebrate together.

Yesterday evening Lincoln Manor had the Military Wives Choir visited and sing Christmas carols . The residents enjoyed singing along and it definitely put us all into the Christmas spirit.

🦸‍♀️ Everyday Heroes Making a Real Difference 🦸‍♂️

We’re incredibly proud to share that St Mary’s Care Homes raised £530.59 for Alzheimer's Society following our group-wide Superhero Summer Party.

Staff and residents embraced the superhero theme, dressing up, enjoying a range of activities and celebrating the strong community spirit within our homes. The event was all about recognising our residents and staff as the everyday heroes they are, while raising vital funds and awareness for people living with dementia.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and supported such an important cause. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again in 2026!
