Last week's Caring Times National Care Awards were truly special for the Shipley Manor team. We're delighted to share that Monica Correia was awarded Care Chef of the Year 2025!

Monica's passion, dedication, and creativity to making every dining experience meaningful shine through in everything she does. We're so proud to see her incredible work recognised on a national stage.

🌺Remembrance Day at Shipley Manor🌺

Last week, our residents got creative during a special craft session, making poppies to honour those who served. These were then used to create our very own poppy garden, with the option to add “In Loving Memory” stickers.❤️

We gathered together to watch the Remembrance Service, followed by a quiet moment beside our poppy garden, reflecting on each poppy and the memories shared. It was truly moving to hear the residents’ personal stories and reflections.

In the afternoon, we had a visit from Hayley J, who took us on a sentimental journey through wartime songs. Residents wore Union Jack hats and waved their flags whilst singing along.🎩🎶

Lest We Forget. 🌺

Across all our homes, residents and staff are paying their respects for Armistice Day, remembering those who have given so much.

To commemorate and celebrate all our veterans, our homes are taking part in our 'Together We Remember' event, welcoming families and members of the local community to pay their respects and join in our remembrance activities.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Monica Correia, from Shipley Manor Care Home, has won the Care Chef of the Year Award at the Caring Times National Care Awards! 👏

This is a thoroughly deserved accolade for the amazing contribution that Monica has delivered during her time at Shipley Manor Care Home.

Her unwavering dedication, passion and expertise impressed the judges, going above and beyond to know every resident personally, understanding their likes and dislikes as well as meeting their dietary needs.

We are incredibly proud of Monica and all that she has achieved.

Tomorrow, St Mary’s Care Homes will come together for our Together We Remember events, honouring the courage, service, and sacrifice of our veterans as we mark Armistice Day. Hutton Manor paid their respects yesterday by taking part in Pudsey's Remembrance Sunday service.🌺
