It’s GP education day. About every 6 weeks we have to close early while our doctors head for lectures to keep up to date.

Our phone lines will be closed from 5pm today but open at our normal time 7.30am tomorrow morning.

From today, people in the UK who test positive for COVID are no longer legally required to isolate.

However, these rules have not changed for the NHS.
Until they do, please continue to:

-Wear a face covering in surgery.
-Keep your distance when in the surgery.
-Arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment.
-Avoid attending for routine care if you have COVID.
-Tell us if you have COVID symptoms or are COVID positive when you have an appointment.

This way we can continue to keep our most vulnerable patients and staff, as safe as possible.

Following on from the recent government announcement regarding face coverings no longer being required in public places, the UK Health Security Agency’s infection Prevention Control guidance remains in place within general practice.

Due to being a high risk environment, we will continue to ask patients to wear face coverings (face masks or face shields), to maintain social distance and to use hand sanitizer before entering the practice. This is to ensure that we keep our most vulnerable patients and also our staff as safe as possible.

A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.

Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems will still get one, but where your clinician recommends that it’s safe to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.

Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available however, we have been told that this will not be before 17th September 2021 so this means that all blood test appointments until this date will be cancelled and we will update accordingly.

If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.

Update on GP appointments at Brierly Hill and Pensnett locations.

We continue to offer an excellent 7 day service from 07.30am-6.30pm Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 07.30am-7.30pm on a Monday and Wednesday. We also have telephone triage pre bookable clinics on Saturday and Sunday .

Any patient wishing to speak to a GP will still need to call 01384 366155 and speak to a receptionist who will triage their call. If patients that are deemed by a clinician that they are required to be seen in person within 24 hours will be seen at either Brierley Hill or Pensnett High Oak (Tues and Thursday afternoon only subject to change).

We are aiming to give our patients as much flexibility as we can and will continue to listen to their feedback and shape our service moving forward.

Tuesday 24th August 2021
Tuesday 7th September 2021

Tuesday 21st September 2021 - will be replaced by Friday 24th September 2021
