For many children and young people the start of term represents a return to structure, a positive learning environment and the chance to reconnect with friends.

For others the thought of returning brings high levels of anxiety. Some young people might find the thought of being apart from their parent or caregiver overwhelming. Children with ASC or ADHD might struggle to manage the sensory and social demands of school.

For young people who are struggling a good relationship with a therapist can work wonders to help them feel as safe and secure while they manage school. I work with young people from age 7-19 who are struggling with a wide range of problems including ASC, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, emotional and behavioural dysregulation, bereavement and many more.

Hi there, I'm Jack, an HCPC registered Dramatherapist specialising in working with children and young people age 7-19 in the Brighton and Hove area. I understand that finding the right therapist for your child can feel really overwhelming and I offer a service that is accessible, warm and understanding. I offer a free 20min if phone call with parents and a low rate initial session with your child to find out whether this is the right fit for you.

The majority of my experience is working in educational settings with children and young people with additional needs including ADHD, ASC, children and young people who have experienced early developmental trauma, Young Carers and children under adoption or special guardianship orders. My approach is very broad, I can work directly with your child by talking through their problem or through the use of story, art and play.
