I am a certified APPI Pilates Instructor. The APPI method has been designed by Physiotherapists and has its roots in rehabilitation, treating the clinical population with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and symptoms.
The APPI Pilates Method is the Gold standard and is used in Hospitals and Physiotherapy clinics throughout the country.
As a former Desk worker myself I suffered from terrible posture which led to a bad shoulder and RSI, it made sitting down all day painful and uncomfortable. Seeking Pilates out I soon realised the benefits that come from regular practice. It was also a major part of my rehabilitation when I fell off my bike and injured my shoulder.
About me:
My previous background as a Physiotherapy assistant in Musculoskeletal rehabilitation and Sports Massage therapy has given me a unique set of skills which allows me to offer something for everyone to help support them throughout their Pilates journey!
I moved to Brighton in 2018. Before I started working as a Pilates instructor I was a working as a Sports massage therapist in Physiotherapy/ Osteopathy clinics around London part time. Still doing the massage but more on a part-time basis I then started while working full time as Physiotherapy assistant in the Musculoskeletal department at Imperial College Hospital in London.
It was in this role that I was introduced to Clinical Pilates and more specifically the APPI Pilates Method. Under the guidance of Physiotherapists I was delivering exercise rehabilitation plans to groups and individuals using Pilates!
The Physiotherapists had all done the APPI Pilates method and were all using it as part of patients recovery!
Never had I taught exercise before but as soon as I started it I loved it. That’s when I decided to enrol on a course to become a Pilates instructor.
