Sociability will be in Brighton and they want to see as many of our members there as possible ⭐️

Sociability is an app designed to help disabled people find reliable accessibility information, whether that’s somewhere offering quiet shopping experiences or a cafe with a step free entrance.

Sociability is designed by the community and networks like- minded individuals with mapping days.

We completely understand it’s going to be a hot day and your health comes first! If you are able to make it we’d love to see as many of you there as possible 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

Date: Friday 15 August 2025

Meeting Location: Brighton Train Station, Queens Rd, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 3XP

Meeting time: 12pm

Mapping hours: 12.15pm - 3 pm

Coffee and cake hours: 3 pm - 4 pm

Finish time: 4 pm (feel free to leave before this time!)

Times are tough for disabled people!

Leading disability charity, Scope estimated that disabled households with at least 1 disabled adult or child, were facing an extra costsof on average £1010 a month.

With the cost-of-living crisis being very much alive and kicking, asking for financial assistance, be that through help with bills or sourcing food is nothing to be ashamed of.

Often food banks can be inaccessible to disabled people, so our founder Lauren Ella Perry has created a list of places in our local community offering support to disabled people.

Hello Poorlies!

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and we know how difficult it can be to access mental health services.

In order to help you find low-cost and accessible support, we have put together a list of local and national organisations, from crisis lines to therapy providers.

We have a booklet outlining services available and their accessibility, as well as a table format with key contact information. All of these are available on our website as well as in the files section in our group.

We’ve been busy making badges!

We know some of our members are off to Naidex National @ NEC Birmingham this week!

We will soon be releasing more designs to help you navigate your way around but for now we would love to introduce our series of ‘poorly badges’

Looking to buy handmade the Christmas while supporting disabled and chronically ill individuals?

Last week we held a Christmas card making workshop, in which members of ALPB handmade Christmas cards!

Some of these cards are now available for sale, all hand made by our members living with disabilities and chronic illnesses.

All funds will go directly towards A Little Poorly, if you would like to know more information about us please get in touch! I will be sharing more information about the group in the next few weeks.

They are priced at 75p each, or you can choose 4 to make a bundle and these will be £2.50!

More designs will be shared shortly.

Please send us a message directly or comment below which cards you would like, and we can either drop them off to you locally in Brighton or you can collect from us. We can post if you’re happy to pay postage:)

You can pay via bank transfer to our community account, pay cash or Paypal.
