Most people think the knee just bends and straightens… but it actually moves in two planes. 👀
Yes, it flexes and extends — but it also rotates slightly each time you step, turn, or squat. That tiny spiral motion is what allows your knees, hips, and feet to work together smoothly.
When we limit that movement — or try to “protect” the knees by keeping them still — we can actually create stiffness, strain, or pain elsewhere (hello hips and lower back!).
Healthy knees move with the rest of the body, not against it.
