What an absolutely amazing workshop we had yesterday! 😍

and I were able to work with a beautiful group, delivering our Align & Unwind workshop. Connecting people into their bodies, alignment and movement, while unwinding their nervous systems.

The energy in the room was wonderful and my heart was, and still is, full of so much joy and gratitude. Thank you again to everyone that joined us.

We'll be announcing our next session soon and expect it to sell out fast, so keep an eye on your inboxes and social feeds.

Same movement, different alignment and intention 📈

It's amazing the difference intention and alignment can make. In this video you can see the impact the upper body has on the lower body.

In both movements I'm trying to get the foot pronate, to flatten and the weight to come forward in the foot.

In the first part I'm leaning forward with the upper body, something I see lots of people doing... and something I used to do myself. In the second part I'm leading with a knee bend instead, keeping the upper body "stacked" - the head over the ribcage, ribcage over pelvis - and letting them glide forward together.

When we keep our body aligned it allows much more flexion at the ankle and knee. These joints are designed to, and need to, move, if we don't move them all sorts of compensations can arise. The good old phrase "use it or lose it" really is true!

When was the last time you felt your feet?
Like, really felt into them and connected with them?

I often joke that as they're the furthest body part from our brain we forget about them. But they are our foundation. They support us every time we stand up and for every step we take, they are our connection to the ground.

Many people have an imbalance in their feet, they use them differently and often one works harder or moves more freely than the other.

Unless we feel into our feet and connect with them, then we won't be aware of their movement, or lack thereof, and we can start to make changes.

So why not take the first step (see what I did there) in your movement and alignment journey, get outside and go for a walk. No noise, no distractions, just feeling into your feet.

Feel free to let me know how you get on and what you notice in your feet 👣

Another wonderful workshop this morning, helping a lovely group tune into their posture and alignment.

Exploring how we hold ourselves when sitting, standing and bringing awareness to areas that are out of alignment. Then using mindful movement to help increase range of motion in key joints and areas of the body, to bring ourselves closer to a neutral, optimal posture.

Thanks to the fab for the great space too.

Tight hips? Achy lower back?
🦴 Your pelvis might just need to move.

In this reel I’m showing a simple pelvic tilt (anterior ↔ posterior) and why it can make such a difference.

When your pelvis tips forward and back:
• your thigh bones rotate in the hip sockets
• your hips gently open and close
• your lower back arches and rounds

It’s a small movement — but it affects a lot.

I’ve also included a few common mistakes to watch out for so you’re getting the most out of the movement.

Try it slowly. Notice what changes.
Sometimes relief starts with awareness.

Normal people watching TV:
“Great storyline.”

Me watching TV:
“His head is rotated and side-shifted.” 😂

Seriously though, when your head lives off-centre for long enough, some muscles get stuck short, others get stuck long — and over time, that imbalance can lead to stiffness, headaches, neck pain, even shoulder issues.

The good news?
You can gently nudge things back toward balance.

If you recognise this in yourself, I’ve shared a few simple moves to start undoing it 👆

Your body adapts to what you do most.
Make sure that’s working for you, not against you.

Wrists are small, but they do a lot of work.
They connect your forearm to your hand and need to move in more than one direction to stay happy.

In today’s Movement Monday I show:
• the bones of the wrist
• how the wrist moves
• why limited wrist movement can affect other areas

Thanks to .app and .of.motion for the fab videos.

Head to YouTube for a deeper look and simple ways to get better movement into your wrists.

We all want a quick fix when we’re in pain. I get it.

And sometimes it helps — painkillers, hands-on treatment, massage.
They reduce symptoms.

But pain is rarely random.
Your back might hurt because of your feet, your posture, or how your pelvis moves.

As a movement coach, my job isn’t to “fix” you... especially not in one session.
It’s to help you change how you move, and how your body is aligned — so the pain doesn’t keep coming back.

It takes effort.
It takes consistency.
But it works long-term.

Be sure to book soon so you don't miss out on this lovely wellness workshop!

Research consistently shows that combining movement, breath awareness and sound can:

*reduce muscular tension
*improve posture and ease of movement
*calm the nervous system
*support deep mental and physical rest

What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than releasing tension, realigning the body and relaxing.

Movement Monday: the vertebrae 🦴

We’ve got lots of them, each one shaped to move — and each individual vertebra can move in all 3 planes.
But because they’re connected, what’s happening at one level will always affect the rest.

Head to YouTube YB Aligned to learn more about spinal alignment, compensations, and how this links to pain and tension.
